Great dive bar with free popcorn made fresh, a decent beer selection, pool, etc. Everything you want in a dive bar but with friendly staff (not surly). Highly recommend at least checking it out once.

cheap beer.  great place to go with 4-6 people and split a pitcher or three.  inside is dark but spacious.  good place to watch sports too.

Where else in Chicago can you hear Lutheran seminarians swear, firefighters  discuss fine cuisine, and grad students debate the cultural implications of a Sponge Bob Square Pants Broadway musical???

Dark and friendly.  A nice selection of reasonably priced beers.  Grilled cheese, hot dogs, turkey burgers... My dad's favorite place to eat or drink when he visits Chicago.
