Woodman's was founded in 1919. The Kenosha store location opened August 4th, 1997.

Story

Woodman’s Markets are a fresh change from the super box multi-product stores like Wal-Mart and Meijer and the national grocery chains like Dominick’s, Jewel, and Pick n’Save. Currently, shoppers access Woodman’s stores all the way from Green Bay, WI to the Chicagoland suburbs of Illinois. Customers rely exclusively on Woodman’s stores for their grocery needs, and there is good reason why. Woodman’s offers huge variety and much lower prices than these other grocery stores and super box operators. In addition to grocery items, Woodman’s stores also feature huge, extremely well-stocked liquor stores, discount gas stations, oil change centers and car washes. This makes Woodman’s a convenient one-stop, grocery-shopping destination.

If you haven't been to Woodman's your missing out!! They have everything you could imagine and then some. If you're a drinker, the wine, beer and spirits section has great variety. If you love ethnic foods, your in for a treat! The organic & natural foods section is huge and full of a variety of choices for every person, from vegan to vegetarian, to gluten free. Woodman's prices are excellent, you won't be disappointed. I know many people from the Chicago suburbs that make a monthly trip to Woodman's for their shopping needs.

One of the largest stores in the country, it's over 250,000 square feet. If they don't have it, you probably can't get it in this part of the world. The cheese section alone takes up 3 aisles, because Wisconsin. The liquor section is bigger than many grocery stores. they sell 50 different brands of frozen pizza. The produce section goes on for days. The Organic and Gluten free sections are bigger than at Whole foods. On top of that, Woodman's is an Employee owned chain. Everyone has a stake in the company, employees are treated well, and the prices beat out nearly every other store including Walmart.

You can get everything that you can think of in this one store. The produce is great quality and a very impressive selection. They might not have every brand that you are looking for (I found this when looking with coupons), but they do still have other versions of the products. There is a large selection of healthy food varieties. The store seems large at first but it is set up pretty well. You can get around pretty quickly after a few visits.

Extremely wide selection. Prices on some items are very competitive and a great deal. Otherwise price are in line and not expensive. There's a large organic produce section, larger than those holistic grocery stores like Whole Foods and Fresh Thyme. Lots specialty foods. A whole each for Asian and Hispanic food.

Woodman's Foods is HUGE!! Great place to shop for everything!! They have EVERY BRAND NAME + MORE of EVERY FOOD & PRODUCT you can imagine!! It has LOW PRICES & you can get more for your money, than any other Grocery Store!! Also, it is Employee Owned!! How that is, I have no idea, but that's what they claim! The only reason I have it 4 Stars, is because the Cashiers could use a bit of Customer Service training. Not many are cheery or personable. A SMILE & OR HELLO OR HI, WOULD MAKE THE 5TH STAR!! LISTEN UP, EMPLOYEES, IF YOU AREN'T GOING TO BE NICE/FRIENDLY OR SAY HI/HELLO, THEN YOU SHOULD NOT WORK IN A POSITION WHERE YOU INTERACT WITH THE PUBLIC!!!! AT THE VERY LEAST, WOULD IT KILL YOU TO SMILE & BE FRIENDLY?? That's my ONLY COMPLAINT!!!
