The service at this hardware store is amazing. The staff are both friendly and knowledgeable, and--a real rarity these days--there are plenty of them, so it isn't hard to get someone to help you. The moment I walk in the door, someone walks up to me and asks what I'm looking for. I tell them the first thing on my list, and they say, "right this way," lead me over to where it is, and tell me about the options. Then they do the same thing with anything else on my list. If someone sees me carrying merchandise around, they offer to bring it up to the register so I don't have to tote it around with me while I'm doing the rest of my shopping. This is a huge improvement over Home Depot, where I can wonder for several minutes before finding someone to help me and have to wait in line to talk to them, then finally get a very vague answer as to where what I'm looking for might be. This ACE is pretty small, so they don't have the huge variety / breadth and depth of products, but if you just need something basic, having a small store is a huge perk because you can get in and get out so much faster. The store is also a great source for replacement parts--they have bins where you can buy an individual screw of the diameter and length you need for just a few cents whereas, at a giant hardware store, you'd usually have to buy a pack of a hundred screws for a few dollars, even though you only need one. Most of all, and as I said at the beginning, the service is excellent. Since they have someone at the door waiting for the next customer, it means that most of my trips here literally take 3 to 5 minutes door-to-door. The one and only shortcoming is that they're only open until 6:00pm (at least on weekdays.) But if that's the compromise they have to make in order to provide real service, it is WELL worth it!

Always get good advice from the ace techs there. Go in with a happy,and come out happier. ACE IS THE PLACE.
