Visiting Miami and googled a black owned restaurant to support and World Famous House of Mac popped up! Excellent choice! We meet the owner Chef Teach! He was very humble and very approachable! Took a picture with us! Atmosphere was lovely ! Food was chefs kiss! Our waitress Stacie was the best! Homemade blueberry lemonade was so fresh and delicious I had to take one !
The World Famous House of Mac is located in Miami, Florida. The customer service was horrible. We had to flag down someone to take our order. It took forever to receive our drinks and food. Our drinks were mediocre, and definitely not worth the prices we paid. The Crab Macaroni and Lobster Macaroni was bland. It looked delicious, but the flavor and seasonings were not there. The lemon broccoli was horrible. The Philly cheese steak pizza was the best thing I ate. It was hot and fresh. It was loaded with steak, veggie and cheese. This restaurant offers an exotic menu, but the food is not cheap. Be ready to spend some money!
To come here is to understand why they are called world famous. it truly just doesn’t get any better than House of Mac when it comes to mac and cheese. The food is always good and hot!! made the order. the server was very attentive. we said we wanted our order in to go containers and he brought it out in the cast iron we reminded him we wanted it in to go and he took it back and returned back with in 3 minutes quit our order. nice r&b music. good spot and would definitely recommend
Order to go. Not worth the dine-in experience. Waited outside for 30 min. Didn’t seem too bad 9pm-9:30pm, even though they said it was “15-20 min but going fast” lies. Once inside, we ordered and waited 1 hour and 10 min for the appetizer! An order of seven chicken wings, 10:47pm… we sat there with our overly sweet lemonade. We asked the server where the food was, and all she kept saying was “it’s coming”. Got the rest of the food around 11pm. Ate, paid our bill and was out by 11:15-11:20? “Keith’s Favorite Burger” was slapped together, not worth waiting two hours for. We also ordered the truffle Mac and cheese… not a hint of truffle, we believe they forgot to put it in, in their rush to get us some food.
Great place for food and gathering with friends. The jerk shrimp mac and cheese was delicious. Cornbread appetizer was amazing too. The music was great, especially the violinist. The alcoholic drinks looked amazing, but I didn't get a chance to try any. Friendly staff and service. Great overall atmosphere.
Went there earlier today. Menu is very enticing, many choices. Hubs got the Buffalo Mac n cheese which was delicious and I got the chicken and shrimp Alfredo. Unfortunately, it missed the bar by a long shot. The pasta itself is tasteless. The shrimp and chicken is very good but for $27 the portion was smaller than I expected. I think the lady taking the orders should mention that when customers are asking for recommendations. When i got my ordered and mentioned the small portion she was speechless. Literally had nothing to say. Hopefully, this review will be a learning and training opportunity for the establishment. I will be back but will stick to their Mac n cheese with a chicken add. First time I came I had the BBQ chicken Mac n cheese and it was to die for. Expensive lesson learned.
The food itself is worth 5 stars! However my overall experience wasn’t the greatest. I went to dine in solo. My waitress took a very long time to come to my table. Another table sat down after me and was serviced quickly but they had a different waitress who seemed to be on top of it, kudos to her! I never received my water or drink from my waitress, the hostess actually saw that I was still sitting there empty table and checked on me and she got me my drinks. My food had actually came out before she came back with the water/lemonadewhich is really fresh and good. I ordered the jerk chicken and shrimp Mac & Cheese! It was very delicious and definitely easily shareable, I took most of it home. It was just disappointing that my waitress was pretty careless for any of her tables. One table next to me ended up leaving because she would never come back to check on them or update them on the status of their food. I try to give benefit of doubt due to staffing shortages at restaurants. Maybe next time I visit, I’ll order to go instead because the food is really good.
The mac and cheese is incredible here I can see why they’re Famous. The portions are not too big but you will get full. Easily. We had truffle m&c and the chicken one with added bacon. You will get foodgasm but also a cholesterol spike. It doesn’t matter, tho, you’d be willing to go for a run to have that food again. Their lemonades are good, too.
I love the diversity of staff in the Wynwood restaurant. The food was amazing! My lobster mac and cheese had the right amount of lobster. My father enjoyed his lobster mac and cheese as well. The jerk chicken pasta has a unique and lovely taste to it.We actually took the leftovers home. Everything we ate and drank was flavorful. We ordered the cornbread and it was light,fluffy and delicious. Will definitely come back again to try their other dishes with friends and relatives.
I had the Seafood Mac n Cheese which came with a grilled lobster! It was delicious! The meat came right out and wasn't chewy at all! The mango lemonade was made perfect. The bar is loading.... so there's currently no alcoholic beverages. Our server Shakita was very entertaining! She gave us the special like Broadway act. Had a great time!
