Exceptional customer service will always distinguish a business from its competitors.  Last year when we adopted our puppy, Jerry, it was convenient for us to stop at the PetSmart or Petco.  Both are only a few miles up the street and we knew that's where we would find the lowest prices.

Worldly Pets is the local pet store in Marblehead.  Our dog walker recommended a specific brand of dog food that most stores don't stock.  My wife and I stopped by the store to check out the food and I was immediately taken back by the expertise and exceptional customer service.  We walked away with extremely generous free samples for each flavor of the new food.  Our instructions were simple: "If he likes the food, I'll be here and I'm not going anywhere so you can always purchase the bigger bag once you know Jerry will eat it."  

We did go back to purchase the larger bag and we'll continue to use Worldly Pets for all our future needs.  You can't beat the service, genuine interest, and feeling good knowing that you're supporting a local small business.
