I think Wynnewood has a excellent Police Dept., they are professional, friendly & there when you need them. I'm a law abiding citizen, so I only see their good side You guys at WPD keep up the good job you're doing. M. Boone

I just read about a cop who shot a dog who was in his own yard. Do you wonder at all why a great many people really don't care that much when they read about cops being shot? That dog was worth 10 of your cops. Keep it up and there won't be any support for the cops any where.

Notice how these cowards blocked all forms of communication on their Facebook page. These guys need a real lesson in PR. You don't run and hope the problem goes away. Animal cruelty is the one thing that is never forgotten. EVER. This is going to be a nightmare for you guys for a long time. You should just own up and apologize, terminate that employee (Who has a record of bad conduct in the past), and build relationship again. Instead, you're being cowards. With police relations the way they are, are you really going to just let this go? Terrible, horrible people. You deserve this.

The police wonder why the public has no sympathy and respect for them - the shooting of a families pet is an example of their overreach of authority. It appears that the officer in question is not intelligent enough to locate the person of interest as he is using an old address so how is he intelligent enough to possess a weapon. Officer Josh Franklin and his actions are a primary reason why the public does not support the police and has little remorse when one is killed in the line of duty. This behavior is not to the level of professionalism expected from those sworn to protect and serve. He should be fired or forced to undergo training so that he does not place other in harms way in the future.

I realize that this is a small town in Oklahoma and they can't get anyone to work in their police department that has an IQ over 30. That said, even stupid people understand enough about dogs to not kick them. Personally, the citizens of Wynnewood should run the chief and the cop out of town. A good old fashion tar and feathering would work here. If anyone reading this is planning on driving on I-35 do yourself a favor and stay far away from Wynnewood just to be safe. Morons patrol there.
