The mission of the Wyoming State Board of Pharmacy is to protect the public. We license pharmacies and all related entities.
The Board of Pharmacy contributes to the Wyoming quality of life through a combination of assuring the public that individuals licensed are competent to practice; pharmaceuticals available are approved by the FDA and in date; pharmacies are operated in a manner that will not compromise drug quality; that prescriptions are dispensed pursuant to a prescription by a practitioner authorized to prescribe; and that patient protected information is managed in a manner that will maintain confidentiality. The preceding is accomplished by the Board through inspections, investigations, management of prescription data via the controlled substance prescription drug monitoring program and through the licensing/registration program. The Board continually reviews evolving technology and considers changes in Board rules and regulations or if appropriate seeks a change in statute through the legislature.
The Board of Pharmacy is that State agency charged with the responsibility of protecting the health and welfare of the residents of Wyoming regarding pharmaceutical services.
