I really don't understand the low rating. This is close to Bay Plaza Mall, a bit of a walk but it's well worth it. We went on a weekend and they serve lobster to you on the table. Lots of seafood choices, beef spare ribs which could be pricey if you order in other restaurants. You can also do take out and they will weigh and reasonably charged as well.Staff are also very nice! Kid-friendliness: lots of spaces and high chairs for kids
I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Chinese buffet, and I must say it was quite an experience. The establishment garnered a range of opinions from customers, and here's my take on it. Upon arriving, I was pleased to find attentive and friendly customer service, which set a positive tone for the evening. The seating area, while slightly cramped, became busier as the evening progressed, indicating its popularity among diners. One standout moment was when a server surprised our table with a generous portion of whole lobster, a delightful touch that showcased the staff's willingness to go the extra mile. The overall cleanliness of the place, including the bathrooms, added to the pleasant dining environment. The buffet's array of options was impressive, spanning around 4 to 5 rows of dishes. While predominantly Chinese cuisine, the variety encompassed other cuisines as well, ensuring there was something for everyone. I particularly enjoyed the well-seasoned Chinese dishes and the addition of sushi to the spread. The dessert section was decent, with the cheesecake standing out as a personal favorite. Although I was eager to explore more, my stomach's capacity reached its limit. The inclusion of ice cream in the freezer added a magical touch to the culinary adventure. While the restaurant had its strengths, it's worth noting that service had its moments of inconsistency, as mentioned in one of the reviews. Nonetheless, the balance of good food and reasonable prices made it a worthwhile experience. During the week, the $14 price tag was a steal, offering good value for the variety of food available. However, weekends saw a slightly steeper price of $26, which might be a consideration for those looking to visit during peak times. In conclusion, my experience at the Chinese buffet was satisfactory. With an impressive selection of dishes, varying in quality, and a cozy atmosphere, it's a dining spot that caters to a diverse range of tastes. Whether you're craving authentic Chinese flavors or simply seeking a satisfying buffet adventure, this place is worth a visit.
For the price and the food, you cannot complain. Maybe the cheapest place that you can have unlimited lobsters. Highly recommended . Free lobster but really big.Food: 5/5
There are a variety of cuisines there but mostly chinese food. We are lucky to come on a sunday and get a lobster each. So gooood. The food was well seasoned and they had sushi as well. The desert line was okay i personally liked the cheesecake. If you have big stomach you should try everything. I wanted to have some mac n cheese but yea was so full so maybe next time. Oh and they also have ice cream in the freezer too. Magic.
Xin Hi Buffet left a lasting impression with its diverse and delicious offerings. The wide array of fresh and well-prepared dishes showcased the restaurant's commitment to quality. The attentive staff and inviting ambiance added to the overall positive experience. A great choice for those looking for a satisfying and varied buffet option! My mom love this place. They gave us 2 free lobsters they day we went to eat. There is a bar there too for drinks if you want top shelf too. It very popular . Weekends very packed.
There’s hundreds different fresh food to choose from, it’s very affordable, the food is all delicious! The place is clean and well maintained and the stuff are very friendly. There is not enough words to describe, wish I could give more stars! I can’t wait to come back and definitely recommend 100%visiting if you’re in the area!
They refused me and my service animal. They wanted an ID for my service dog. When I told them that he has no ID as under ADA guidelines even though I'm not required to show them, all I have to show is my diagnostic letter if I feel okay with doing that, they dismissed me. This is not a way to treat anyone. When I again reiterated that he and I were both protected under ADA guidelines, they again said NO ID, he cannot get in. Absurd!
It must have been unfortunate timing when I visited this establishment at 6pm on a Monday evening. Staff seemed sluggish and unresponsive, drinks we wanted were unavailable, and the food at the buffet was not fresh. The fish had that fishy taste, and not in the good way. The snow crab legs were over done and lacked any flavor. The sweet and sour or maybe seedless sesame chicken? Maybe it was called orange chicken, I don't remember was floating in it's own sauce, and therefore tasted old and over saturated. An acquaintance spoke highly of this place, but when he took us, it disappointed all. For about 25 dollars per adult, I felt kinda robbed. Could have put the money to ordering something else, or buying ingredients to have a cooking party. Might visit in the future to try and catch them on a good day, but it's unlikely. Parking: Maybe enough for 30 cars or less. We didn't drive there, so I paid no attention to it.
The food was great with good prices for the amount of food we had, will come back another time .. but the waitress could of been better..Recommended dishesCheesecake Slice, Clams, Lobster Sushi, Bufett
There is a good variety of food. Lots to choose from The soft shell crabs are excellent The spring rolls are fresh. The BEST fried dumplings in NYC. The staff is very friendly and makes patrons feel welcome. John the owner is a gracious host. Overall, A+ for the Xi Hin Buffet at Co Op City.
