Very nicely decorated and a really relaxing vibe. The food was good and it’s a nice view of the bridge too. I came in on a Saturday for brunch and overall there was plenty of seating so I wouldn’t recommend a reservation. Very cute place just to try something small.Food: 5/5
Xolo, tucked away in the heart of Brooklyn, is a gem of a Mexican restaurant that effortlessly combines coziness with culinary delight. From the moment you step inside, you're enveloped in a warm, inviting atmosphere that sets the tone for a relaxed dining experience. The ambient lighting and thoughtful decor create an intimate setting, perfect for both casual diners and those seeking a spot for special occasions. The food at Xolo is nothing short of a fiesta of flavors. Each dish is a testament to authentic Mexican cuisine, with fresh ingredients that are expertly combined to delight your taste buds. The tacos are a must-try—perfectly charred and bursting with the savory goodness of well-seasoned meats, topped with fresh herbs and chopped onions that add a refreshing crunch. Whether you're craving the slow-cooked depth of barbacoa or the vibrant zing of citrus-marinated fish, there's something on the menu to satisfy. But the experience doesn't stop at the food. Xolo's drinks menu is a curated selection of cocktails and spirits that complement the food menu exquisitely. From classic margaritas to more inventive creations, each sip is crafted with the same attention to detail and quality as the dishes they accompany. The service, too, is a highlight—attentive without being intrusive, ensuring that your glass is never empty and your needs are met with a smile. In all, Xolo is a delightful escape into the warm embrace of Mexican hospitality right in Brooklyn. It's a place where every meal feels like a celebration, and every visit leaves you planning the next. Whether you're a local or just passing through, make a point to stop at Xolo—you won't be disappointed.
So, the service and atmosphere were the best parts of our experience here. I have a few qualms about the food however, and maybe I need to try it out another time? Food: While everything seemed fresh, there was just flavor/texture missing from some of items. The guacamole was bland, it definitely needed more to it we ended up asking for limes to add to it and we expected salsa to be served with it. I did not expect this small container of red sauce, I wanted a real dip for all of those chips. It was just something I was surprised by considering the reviews for this place. My boyfriend liked his tacos, but felt that it was overcooked meat. I was excited to try the vegan Xolo Burrito, but it wasn’t that great :/ the serving and plating for both dishes looked fantastic! But the flavor was muted, it didn’t really taste like much except potatoes no vegan chorizo? and the texture was just mushy. No crunch from vegetables or flavorful sauces. Just potato mush? Idk. The margarita was great! It definitely had fresh fruit and the spicy rim was fantastic. Service: the staff was incredibly quick and kind. They were wonderful throughout! Atmosphere: the inside is intimate and fun. Like a cross between a taqueria and a club, great for dates or meeting with friends! And the view of the Williamsburg bridge is amazing. Overall, I really wanted to like this place. But, I’m baffled by the food. It was honestly just mediocre for a place with so many good reviews, maybe I came on an off night. Vegetarian options: Plenty of clearly marked vegan options to choose from. Dietary restrictions: There were vegan/vegetarian options. As well as gluten free alternatives to choose from. Kid-friendliness: Not the best place for kids. Better for adults.
Xolo always hits the spot. Food is fresh and delicious. Large menu selection. Amazing service - the waiters and bar tenders are all friendly and very attentive. We’re so happy this gem moved into the neighborhood.Food: 5/5
Xolo has excellent food and a nice atmosphere. We stopped in for their restaurant week deal and were very impressed. All dishes were great but the fish tacos and quesadilla really stood out.Food: 5/5
Came for dinner and drinks on a Sunday night. Wonderful atmosphere and great, attentive, fast service. We even got a small shot at the end on the house! The ceviche and the shrimp tacos were FIRE. I also ordered the paloma which was delicious.Food: 5/5
We had a great time at Xolo this past Sunday. The lime Margaritas were so well balanced I had two which I never do in the afternoon. My siesta lasted the rest of the day once we got home. We had the Chicken Verde Enchiladas with extra Verde and they were so good. They were prepared with crema, onion and cheese just the way my dear Sophia use to make. The Guacamole was perfect but honestly at $14, they could have given more. That was the only disappointment but flavor was spot on. We had fresh tortillas and chips. My partner and I would never had known about Xolo, so a big shout out to my son for taking us there.
XOLO is a little cute hidden gem . Everything was great, the drinks were superb, the food was fingerlicking good, the service was outstanding and our server Esther was so sweet and VERY attentive to detail; she gave us great recommendations and was on point with everything. The place is gorgeous and has a very unique decor. I highly recommend this place as a cute date night place, or a place for a group of friends who want to have a good time, eat amazing food & listen to nice music. Thank you guys!
Absolutely loved my experience at Xolo! I recommend visiting an hour before sunset and request for the table with the Williamsburg bridge view! The space is stunning, and the decor matches the vibe of this bright and airy all-day Mexican restaurant. I also have to rave about the food because it was SO delicious! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu and the portions are great for sharing : I didn't get a chance to photograph the dessert but please try the Blue Corn Pineapple Upside Down Cake!
Good place! Not as great as I expected but the food is good and the margaritas too! They can definitely do better!!! The place is very nice and has potentials, it probably needs to be managed better!!!Food: 3/5
