Yakitori Jinbei

About

One of a few restaurants in Atlanta that is still Japanese owned. We serve Yakitori, Ramen, Sushi, and a variety of Japan's popular entree's and appetizers.

Story

“Irrasshaimase!” (Ira-sshai-ma-se) is a Japanese traditional greeting word for customers in Japan and it means “Welcome to our restaurant”. It also means thank you for coming with respect. It shows Japanese unique culture in that we respect customers and show our appreciation with respect. We love to say it and hear it because it brings a welcomed feeling and comfort for dining.

“Irasshaimase!” Welcome to Yakitori Jinbei Japanese and Sushi Restaurant located in the Smyrna and Vinings area of Atlanta. Operated by Japanese ownership, we are proud to bring over 30 years of preparing and serving Japanese cuisine in Tokyo, Japan to Atlanta and look forward to sharing our authentic Japanese culture with our customers.

We are the only Japanese restaurant in the southeast United States that specializes in the traditional preparation and grilling of Japanese style skewers called “Yakitori” over imported Japanese charcoal called Binchotan (see our “Whats Yakitori” link for more information). We offer Yakitori in many varieties of meats including chicken, beef, pork, seafood, and vegetables served with sea salt or dipped in our special house made “tare” sauce. The heat from this special charcoal penetrates the meat quickly without breaking down the protein and result in meat that is flavorful and juicy on the inside, yet slightly crunchy on the outside with a mild smoked flavor.

If you have never experienced the taste of traditionally prepared “Yakitori”, you are missing one of the most popular foods in Japan that is enjoyed as much as “Sushi” or “Tempura”. Due to the long burn time of Binchotan charcoal, Yakitori is only available during our Dinner hours.

We have also been honored with the “Best of 2010 Atlanta” Award by Creative Loafing for the category of “Best Ramen Restaurant”. We are thrilled that this honor was bestowed on us and continue to strive to meet that expectation of us from our customers for serving high quality ramen. Come by and try our famous “Tonkotsu Ramen” and recently added “Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen”.

In addition, we offer a large variety of fresh seasonal items with more than 20 appetizers (traditional and non-traditional), combination box dinners, tempura, and various rice bowls. Come by and see our “Daily Specials” and if you hear us shout out, “Irasshaimase!”, we are welcoming you to our restaurant.

The food is heavenly. The service is excellent. They were so very welcoming to Anime weekend Atlanta attendees. They even stayed open late. This place is a must eat at!!!

I used to love this place. I became a regular visiting at least once a week. Today I visited with my brothers who have also frequented the establishment and were treated horribly. It took forever to seat us when there were plenty of open tables. It took about 10 minutes to get our drink and appetizer order. We waited and waited for someone to take out order when he got the drinks to the table he asked if we were ready to order we said yes, but to our suprise he walked away! He walked past out table several times helping other tables and holding conversations I was very unhappy. I asked for the check when he walked past once again. The good is great in the least but the service is horrible. I will NEVER go back, I paid for my drinks and appetizer and they are lucky I did that.!

Took a few minutes to get a waiter but the food and service after that was perfect. First time I have had authentic ramen and I will never go back. Staff is knowledgeable of what they serve and can help you pick out the meal you want. Don't hesitate. Come get some of this great food.

A shadow of what it once was. Under the previous owners it was amazing. Sushi is no longer available, the katsudon (Fried pork cutlet) was soggy. This place is okay of you want to try Japanese food that isn't sushi.

Had an awesome waiter, he was all by himself but made sure we were taken care of. I ordered the Naruto ramen and added extra ramen, my mistake but he brought me more broth for it which made it 10X better. I wish it had a little more flavor, but overall it was good.
