The food was quite good. The waiter insisted on pouring my beer for me... But he had no idea what he was doing. It was very warm, it didn't seem like they had the A.C. on despite it being 85 degrees and humid out.

WORST sushi I've ever had. Yesterday I decided to give them a try and ordered one of my favs food of all time: Sushi. As soon as I looked at it something was off. I'm an avid sushi eater so you get to a point when by only looking and smelling it you can tell if it's good or not. This one didn't look good and didn't smell fresh but I decided to try it anyways. I ordered to go so while still at the restaurant I asked if they had placed soy sauce in it, they said yes. When I got home and looked inside I noticed that they did place soy sauce, the cheapest kind that they give you @ cheap japanese places. I ate this Sushi with this horrible soy sauce. It was tasteless, it wasn't fresh, the rice was soggy. It was bad in a LOT of ways. Less than 2 hrs later I was so nauseous. I ended up with food poisoning throwing up the whole night. I will NEVER come back to this expensive and tasteless place.

We were introduced to their sushi at a Christmas party. It was absolutely delicious.  We then tried the restaurant and we've been hooked ever since. The food is fresh made every time, the Crab Rangoon is a MUST!! The Tiger Roll is top notch. There hasn't been 1 dish we didn't like. We can't recommend this place enough. It is the hidden gem of Rhode Island. Get there before everyone figures this out.

Worst tempura I can remember choking down, just now. I had to scrape most of the 'breading' batter off to deal with it, and the plate was still mostly full after eating (with just batter). Otherwise, I actually like Yama Fuji, but feel like I wasted my money this time.
