Food was decent, service was terrible. 1 waitress serving about 20 tables. Was there for an hour and 40 minutes. Soup took 1/2 hour from the time we ordered and was warm at best. Sushi quality not as good as it use to be. Not going back.

Yama Sushi has never been an "authentic Japanese" restaurant. I've eaten at real Japanese restaurants with real Japanese people for a decade. The food and service is quite different. From listening to the staff at Yama Sushi when the restaurant first opened, they seemed to speak Korean. A few years later, there may have been an owner/staff change because the staff seemed to speak Chinese. Also, the food quality went downhill due to a chef change. How do I know? A staff member informed me that they had hired a new chef and they wanted my opinion on the food I had ordered. I have also tried their delivery. It's worse than eating at the restaurant. I do not recommend this restaurant if you want authentic Japanese food.

The delivery driver couldn't find us and I had to spend 15 minutes in the phone trying to explain a very easy address. They forgot half our food and then got another 3 things wrong. After spending over 100 dollars you would think chicken and rice was a simple request.

The design of the interior far surpasses the taste of the sushi. The rolls were made cheaply and the rice is too sweet. The lunch specials are cheap and taste like they are cheap. The Chirashi had little fish and some fish that clearly tasted old. Overall would not go here again.. they need to concentrate on the fish quality not the interior design. And adding sugar to the sauces and rice only tricks the inexperienced diner.

We usually order from this place, no problems except for yesterday. We all got sushi and we all go sick. The sushi was definitely not fresh. I'm not sure if it was the tuna or the shrimp. I was so sick last night, I would not order from here again. The thought of it makes me want to vomit. If it had only happened to me, I would've questioned something else; but, it wasn't. We all got sick.
