I visited the pain management clinic in February of 2017 on a referral to help manage my pain associated with my fibromyalgia. I myself am not interested in going the pharmaceutical route and automatically going on pain pills and/or take the many new "fibro" meds they advertise on tv. I waited almost four weeks to get a response to even schedule. When I do get the opportunity to schedule, I'm informed I will be doing a phycological assessment/intake before I can actually meet the Doctor. The assessment was not bad, I basically talked about my feelings associated with my pain, so on and so forth. The Councelor was quite lovely. I then was able to schedule to see the Dr a few weeks after that. I was called directly before my appointment and informed I would need to make time after the appointment to fill out a pain management contract for the tramadol I currently take, mind  you, I still have not yet met this man. When I go to my appointment he walked in and with a cold look asked me snidely why are you here?! I thought these guys did this whole transfer of medical info and the intake to get that info to review before you walk in to the patient but hey, guess I'm wrong! I started to explain I was looking for a gp and someone to help manage my fibromyalgia. I had expressed interest in trigger point injections which I had heard can help vastly with particular areas that pain me. When the referring Dr suggested this man I knew little about whom she said was the only person close to our area that does trigger point injections, I figured why not go and see what can be done, the next closest area that has doctors that do this is Denver which is five hours  away so can't hurt right? WRONG! This Dr. was so cold and dismissive, he cut me of and told me he was not a gp, then  pulled out the little sheet you fill out at the office of the human body where you circle the areas that pain you, smacked  his hand on it and said there's nothing I can do for this, meaning me of course.  At this point I'm crying with frustration and the thin thread of positive thinking I had going an hour and a half to get there and hold myself together through the pain.  He seemed disgusted by my reaction and just started to reiterate that I need to exercise and lose more weight. Also chimed in that there was nothing else anyone could do for me besides put me on a pill for Fibromyalgia. He scolded me for wasting his time, and when I asked well why then did I get referred to see you in the first place he icily said- it's not the Councelor or the referring Drs fault you are not educated enough to relize the kind of injections I do here treat things like herniated disks, not some silly woman with an autoimmune condition that needs to continue doing yoga, lose weight and shut up already.  To say I'm unhappy would be an understatement. I was sick and couch locked for two days after the stress the incident took out on me. Do not waste your time or money coming to this man unless you are positive you are a "good" candidate for his treatments and don't waste his time because he will let you know all about yourself. When I managed to ask through the tears who he might recommend he coldly suggested I google holistic Drs at this point and printed out a google search for that, handed it to me and walked out with no word. Disheartening and depressive encounter with a co pay attached.

Are you looking to relieve chronic pain??? Then, you should turn away and run just as fast as you can right now and go somewhere else. This man hurt me without blinking an eye, and seemed to ENJOY doing it. I found him to be not only incompetent but VERY non-compassionate as well. I worked in the health field and as a surgical assistant for 15 years, as long as he has been trying to practice medicine, please take my venerable advice and avoid this doctor. I use the word 'doctor' because in the operating room we had a saying.... 'What do you call a doctor who graduates at the bottom of his class?' ... -Doctor! Being robbed and shot in the chest ended my surgical career, and I still have a bullet, which is inoperable, and retained over my left lung, which renders me in horrendous chronic pain. Desperate for relief, I made an appointment with Doctor Siegel. All the man did was to take me off of my pain medications, and leave me laying in bed softly moaning for death for two months. Unacceptable. All those who genuinely wish for a better medical system, write this man's name down now and file complaints with the American Medical Association to have his license revoked, as expediently as possible. Please don't let this happen to another person(s).

Love Dr. Siegel and his staff. Been suffering with chronic pain for years and I was never properly diagnosed in Denver and when I moved out to Steamboat I was referred to Dr. Siegel and after that life has changed. I can walk again and he is the nicest guy in the world. Staff is fantastic too. You can tell they really love working there. Wish my job was that fun too :)
