Wonderful Dim Sum near the ferry building in San Francisco. A true treat certified by local San Franciscans. The weekend expansion is the best time to go and explore these amazing Dim sum dishes. I highly recommend the soup dumplings and the chili oil. A must try if you can!
I’ve been eating here for years, driving and flying from LA just to come here. Sadly this is my first time back since the pandemic. I was saddened to see the dim sum menu has been cut in half. Thankfully the ones that remain are still amazing and superior in flavor than other places I normally go to. I hope as time goes by, the menu will return as well.
FANTASTIC if you’re looking for the traditional dim sum experience where they bring small plates to your table. If you want to avoid the long wait, I highly recommend making a reservation. Like others have mentioned, there can be a pretty long wait without a reservation as this is one of the more popular eateries in SF. The BBQ steamed buns are delicious, as is the soup dumplings. There is an endless barrage of food, so you definitely won’t go hungry here! They also validate parking in the rincon garage around the corner if you can’t find street parking. Highly recommend! The food was hot and tasty, and also reasonably priced considering its in the city. Delicious food, fascinating interior of the office building they they use as a dining room.
Easily reserved morning of for a spot at early lunch service on Sunday. The rush doesn't start until noon. The dim sum cart service is up and running, and we immediately got everything we wanted within 10 minutes! Special dishes, beverages, and final payment are ordered and paid on the QR code provided on the table. Food was pricey but overall tasty. The in-house chili oil is excellent. The vibe felt a bit strange as we were seated in an open area in an office setting, but we didn't mind. I'd recommend Harbor View if you need to impress with the interior vibes.
Decided to try this place given the overwhelmingly good reviews. As a frequent dim sum goer, I was excited since this would be my first SF dim sum experience. The restaurant is basically the first thing you see when entering the building. It's tables arranged on the tile floors. They have an online menu where you can order tea and some dishes. The rest are found on the carts. Several of the items we wanted were sold out. It's also pretty expensive for dim sum! I feel like for the price it could've been better. The shrimp dumplings were over cooked and under seasoned. The egg tarts $14??? were very sweet and heavy. The pastry was flaky though. The best thing was the steamed pork bun. Everything else fell a bit short of our expectations. Also, not sure if this is a regional thing but every where I've been to, the lo mai gai is portioned separately into 3 or 4 bundles. Here they give you one giant portion that is then cut into sections, making it hard to separate the leaf from the rice. I really wanted to love this place. It just didn't live up to the hype, especially if I can get the same quality of dim sum elsewhere for cheaper.
Amazing food that will not disappoint. We arrived early on a Saturday morning and it wasn't too bad or a long line. service checked on us multiple times and on Saturdays they have a BBQ bun pork option I would recommend coming here
Basic dim sum place in a tourist atmosphere. They have an open space for dining. I really didn’t like how we showed up first in line and they asked us if we had reservations? Told us to wait an hour. Kind of ridiculous that they don’t accommodate people without reservations when they had so many seats. Also you need to use the QR code to order some special menu items. It didn’t really work for us. The food was ok but I wasn’t super amazed by it.
A wonderful Dim Sum experience. The wait staff is phenomenal. They are very attentive. I do recommend the tea. It just adds the bow onto the whole experience. We took a bit of a break from eating, but it was a little difficult to flag down someone with a cart but I assume that’s because they thought we were all done.
It was a really nice experience. Ordering via phone was a bit confusing but overall a great experience. Wish there were more dishes though.
OK,OK OK. It's on the pricey side, but i would not have endured a 15.5hrs flight from Changi to SFO, just to have a weekend dim sum that i can get in Singapore would I? It has to be good or BETTER. My good son-in law, knows this, so on a Sunday, 28/8/22, he drove 3 of us from Albany, thru the Bays Bridge to Spear St. Roadside parking is free on Sundays. AND? Love that SIL of mine! Twas very gooood dim sum! Yat lau! Push cart type so you can see, ask and point if you dont know the name or not bothered to refer to the menu & immediately it's on your table, just like the good old times, only better cuz everytime a particular plate/ basket is taken off the cart, i hear her talking on her headset to the kitchen to prepare a replacement, thus all's hot and good. Push cart ladies speak English, Chinese obviously and oh my goodness, Cantonese too! It's located within a voluminous atrium bathed by natural light thru the mile-high skylights of what looks like a financial office block. Unusual setting, no semblance to a restaurant at all for that traditional morning fare. Yat lau, numero uno quality dim sum. GO! PS. The woo kok or Taro dumpling was my favourite.
