Story

Yelm is one of the fastest growing communities in Washington with excellent schools, award winning community events, abundant outdoor recreation opportunities, and breathtaking views of Mt. Rainier.

We created this page to increase communication and provide timely information to the public. It is not monitored 24/7. If there is an emergency please call 911.

When are the elected officials who always promise to help actually going to fix the traffic in this town? It's horrible. Worse than Meridian Ave in downtown Puyallup on a Friday. Maybe instead of a new road to the high school, you can invest in things that will actually make a difference, like more lanes or better traffic configurations at the worst intersections south of Seattle. Or buy the Puyallup bridge and fix the McKenna clog? Just throwing ideas out since no one else can use their common sense. But I guess high school kids always need more pavement for burnouts. Great idea, keep he expectations low and political salaries high.

I want to know who's idea it was to cut down the big tree that was next to the old skate park at Yelm Park? That was an old beautiful tree, SHAME on you for cutting it down. And now when parents are at the park, they can't keep an eye on their teenager and little ones playing on the park at the same time because you completely moved the skate park, across the street, without a crosswalk might I add. Kids are always walking from the skate park to the Yelm Park, running in front of cars because there is no crosswalk. What in the actual **** were you thinking???
