Good luck trying to build or renovate anything because this department runs on inefficiency and lacks any sort of order. If you gave in an application a day ago, you'll never get anything back until the day you die. Think you'll get a permit in maybe 3 months? Think again because they've already lost all your files.

They don't know what they're doing, what paperwork to give you, no one is ever available, they constantly screw up documents and leave the mess for the us homeowners to clean up, if you live in Yonkers you are better off taking the chance and not filing a permit and doing the renovations than going through the circus, running in circles, waiting forever, spending extra money, and getting fined for their incompetence.  Lesson learned, I'll sooner sell my house than file for one of their BS permits ever again!  I live in Yonkers and have a business in White Plains and between these two building departments its amazing anything ever gets done!
