YIEB is a Modern Orthodox synagogue located in Central New Jersey with a membership of over 200 families ... and growing.
Under the dynamic leadership of Rabbi Effy Unterman, YIEB is a place that engages its members through a variety of programming, with a particular emphasis on youth. From Shabbat morning to weekends and summer, we foster within our children a sense of midot, chesed, Israel and a love for Yiddishkeit. We have an active Sisterhood, Israel Advocacy Committee, Yachad, NCSY, Bnei Akiva, and so much more! Learn more by checking out our website and promotional video.
A hidden treasure in central New Jersey, the Young Israel of East Brunswick is home to 220 families enjoying the warm, friendly, “one shul” orthodox community founded in the mid-1970s. Led by Rabbi Efrayim Unterman, YIEB is an established yet fast-growing community with dozens of new families having moved to East Brunswick from places far and wide over the last few years.
Convenient access to kosher food, highly regarded local day schools, ample and affordable real estate, and an in-town mikvah make East Brunswick an ideal place to call home. Located midway between New York City and Philadelphia and just an hour from Manhattan by car, bus, and train, we enjoy an easy ride to both cities for work, shopping, fun, and play.
Shul members attend over a half-dozen preschool and elementary schools in New Jersey and high schools throughout the region. YIEB also offers a renowned chesed program through the Tween/Teen Leadership & Chesed program at Camp Keshet, our summer day camp. Our youth department offers family programs, hosts regional shabbatonim, coordinates community charity projects, and runs social and educational programs.
