A staple of the NMB Jewish community. Rabbi Lehrfield is a fantastic leader and mentor. My shul of choice in the community.

Esti... you are so wrong in your energy, response, and misdirected funding an attorney (whom only wants your money). The GET is a formal Jewish Divorce Document. It is for the wife, but is only signed by the (to be/former) husband. The GET provides specific language allowing the woman to live free and unencumbered according to Jewish Law (which is why you get a copy), not to be recognized as a Harlot, and restricts the man from interfering in the former wife's Jewish Life (which is why he has to sign it with witnesses). If your former husband refused to sign, it is violation of Judaic Law. If you remarried, to that someone special without a GET, the union would be also be in Violation of Judaic Law. With a GET, no Rabbi would/could ever dispute your ability to remarry... except to a Cohen. Be glad that Rabbi's performed the Judaic ceremony so that you can live free of your ex-husband. Don't waste money with an attorney... please. Instead, if you question what I've written, look it up on Google.

FRAUD! FRAUD! FRAUD! Rabbi D. Lehfield should have his smicha revoked and to call him a Rabbi is an absolute embarrassment to our beautiful religion. Unbeknownst to me, Rabbi D. Lehfield, along with three witnesses, have SIGNED and provided my husband with a Get. I wasn't notified, I wasn't present at the ceremony, I had no idea this even took place until a mutual friend sent me a copy of the Get. My husband and I aren't even divorced yet. I have been contacting Rabbi D. Lehfield for over TWO MONTHS now, with no response. I even went as far as visiting him. At first, he took my call, but after I demanded an explanation to how he signed and gave my husband a Get without contacting me, he not only provided me with zero explanations, he began to ignore my calls all together. I contacted the Beis Din, and didn't get anywhere with them as well. I have now retained legal counsel, will be pressing charges, and one way or another I will be getting my explanation!!! Rabbi D. Lehfielda and his three witnesses committed FRAUD and will be exposed in every way possible. Rabbi D. Lehfield had two months time to resolve this matter like a mench. But sometimes the ego gets the best of us. All I asked for was an explanation and to have the Get nulled. But I got neither. After 37 years of being married, I think I am entitled. I am not sure how much my husband paid these Rabbis off, but I hope it was worth it.
