i am only giving dr. young 4 stars, and not a complete 5, because his receptionist staff are possibly the most uncaring people of all time. dr. young is one of the best doctors on earth. just watch out for the bitchy receptionists

He is the best psychiatrist in this area. Dr. Ted Krell was also in the same office and Dr. Krell would work with Dr. Young when his patients went to the Baytown Methodist Psychiatric hospital on Bowie and Alexander which was very close by. Dr. Krell would visit the ward and report back with Dr.Young on his patients. I only saw Dr. Krell in the hospital and also he is the one who did my ECT's at the Methodist on Garth. I believe Krell was the reason why there was a designated smoking room at that hospital. Dr. Krell was the best psychiatrist I ever had in a psychiatric hospital. He is a very small and tiny frail looking old man but you never wanted to piss him off! He always smelled like cigars but not in a bad way. Whatever tobacco he smoked was good stuff! I wonder if he grew his own sometimes. Dr. Krell was always very kind to me and funny. He explained everything I asked. I was very sad when I heard Dr. Krell retired. Him and Dr. Young worked together so well! And when Dr. Krell was still making rounds at the psychiatric hospital in Baytown, that hospital was very nice. All the staff and nurses were awesome! It seems that when Dr. Krell retired and when that smoking room in that psychiatric hospital was converted into a rec room that budget cuts started to roll in. The staff were always nices and friendly as usual but the food quality went down and it was only a matter of time before it shut down. Which is very sad because that hospital was the nicest hospital I had ever been to. Yeah you weren't at the Ritz but you were respected and listened to. I miss all the staff and nurses at that hospital. I haven't found another psychiatric hospital where staff treat you so nicely like the little one we had in Baytown. I miss you Dr. Krell. Please come back! Baytown needs you! Dr. Young is awesome, great doctor. But things were better when Krell and Young were working together before Krell retired. Our hospital was great. Dr. Young can only do so much but he is the best so I recommend him to anybody in this area.

Best Doctor I've ever known. Takes time of his busy schedule to answer questions that worries you, I will highly recommend him.

Dr. Young has helped me turn my life around in ways never thought possible! I absolutely adore him and his complete staff! Thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart!

my name is amber and my mom rebecca has been a patient of dr young for 10 + years we have never had a problem but just recently today to be exact my mom is in a very crutial time in her life and the dr office called this morning to remind us of her appt and we said she would definitly be there and then a couple of hours later a lady called from dr young office and spoke to my mother and told her even though she has three types of insurance for her medical the secretary of dr paul young told her she was going to have to pay full price for her visits becasue they couldnt get the insurance togeather and my mom told them that she was in a middle of a very bad crisis and did not have a hundread dollars to give them then the lady told my mom she would not be able to see the dr and my mom told her that she didnt have it and she was just going to end it all i cannot believe this happened my mom is now gone we have no idea where she is i really hope that you never have to go through this it is just un called for if you tell your pychiatrist staff that you are going to end it you would think they would have called some one in her family her husband or at least try and call back but they ignored her and that is un called for in this profession that is why im rating this office very poor you know after 10+ years you would think that they would have worked something out seeing that she was very upset and not in the right frame of mind i give them credit they did not know at the time when the call was made that my mom was in crisis but when my mom told them and said she didnt have the money to pay she was going to end it they should have took there responsability of there job and called her husband or 911 they didnt and now we dont know where my mom is
