Very exclusive, quaint and cozy desert bar in Flushing. A hidden gem you definitely must try. Store is exceptionally clean and comfortable. Service is equally exceptional. We ordered the chocolate hazelnut cake, the golden toast box with ice cream, the pancake soufflé. We also ordered the iced mocha and hot black tea. Iced coffee was super delicious and it came in a reusable plastic cup compliments of Young’s Desert Bar. Super highly recommended!
This place has to be one of the best Dessert restaurants EVERR. No joke, their dessert melt in your mouth like ice cream, even the pancakes themselves. The cream is silky and not overly sweet. The cream has a tiny sprinkle of salt to help balance the flavor, which enhances the deliciousness. The cream puff is pretty big. The outer layer is crispy, while the cream is soft, smooth, and sweet. In fact, I would drink it like water if I had the chance to do it. The seats are comfortable, and the interior design is super appealing. The AC was high, so a sweater would be a good idea. It was cold enough to have goosebumps. Unfortunately, the space is limited. When it gets busy, finding a seat can take time and effort. From what I saw, the number of staff is minimal, which means making the dessert will take some time. However, patience is WORTH IT.
Food was yummy ! Super pretty too ! The service was nice and me and my friends were able to eat and take our time catching up. Would go to try more of their desserts ! The pancakes aren’t super sweet, they’re nice and fluffy with a slight eggy taste that works well with the ice cream and whip cream given on the sides.
Down a steep staircase and into a den of flavorless deserts and terrible service. Don’t let the bougie ambiance fool you, everything may look nicely presented but the prices are steeper than the stairs and the desert you get lacks the flavor you desire. The self service kiosk is an oversimplification of just having someone man a cash register, since what we ordered wasn’t in stock we got some purple dough from the desert rack and it was flavorless.
We got tempted by the photo on the front sign to enjoy the purple cake. Which we thought would be a purple yam cheesecake but it turned out to be a crepe cake. That would be awesome too as we love crepe cakes. They call it a layer cake here. However, unfortunately, it was a disappointment on many levels. Not only it took the server what seemed like 10 minutes or forever to put a single slice on the plate for us, that he already was holding in his hand, but the cake wasn't fresh. We didn't ask for ice cream with it. It came with an ice-cream garnish that was very cold and crunchy icy. Which is ok. Then it took some long waiting trying to pay. Then, surprisingly, it cost us $14.08 plus almost $1 upcharge for using a credit card for a 2” slice of cake. No reaction was offered from the server to my comment that the cake wasn't fresh. Nor to that it was a surprising cost of $15, especially for an unfresh desert. Lessons learned: 1. Make sure to ask the price before you buy. 2. Promptly return the cake if not fresh.
Terrible dine-in experience here. We ordered Wellness Group Teas teapots for sharing. We had to ask for milk and sugar, as they didn't even offer it, nor was it on our table already. They said they didn't have sugar yet they serve milk tea and desserts? . So we settled for liquid sweetener. They gave us a glass of milk like we were supposed to drink from it. There was no spout on it, so pouring it out without spilling was a challenge. We had to ask for napkins and spoons, which we were given one so we can all take turns stirring with it.
Compact but delightful place. Update on 02.12.22: Must try: tiramisu souffle pancake Finally dine-in and tried souffle pancake! The cake is soooooo soft and I fall in love with it. The golden toast box with ice cream is also good but not as amazing as souffle pancake. Overall, fantastic desserts place and if would be better if they have restroom. Old review: Recommendation: White Peach Jasmine Mille Crepes Cake TODO: tiramisu souffle pancake + golden toast box with ice cream. I ordered takeout. They have some special tastes for both crepe cake and puff. The first time I ordered tiramisu souffle pancake, white peach jasmine mille crepe cake, and taro & purple sweet photo poppuff. They told me that all desserts other than my selected flavors are available. One month later, I visited again and tried to order the same menu. The tiramisu souffle pancake is so popular and I still have to wait for 20 minutes. I will try next time. Really interested in the taste. The puff is very large and not too sweet. The cake is fantastic! Highly recommended.
The staff is very friendly and the desserts are Great. Creamy and sweet enough to have a perfectly rich taste yet not overdone so that it still tastes refreshing. Would recommend the tiramisu souffle and the puffs.
One of the better if not best dessert bars I’ve been to. The interiors are really pretty and the lady was super nice. Their milk tea was especially great. It had a stronger tea taste and has hits the sweet spot on balancing milk and sugar.
A hidden dessert spot where it doesn't feel like you are in Main St. I went on a Saturday afternoon and it was empty so it was nice to sit down and enjoy the quiet atmosphere. We ordered a soufflé pancake and a matcha puff. The soufflé pancake was not overly sweet and the ice cream and the fruits complimented the dessert. What stood out was the matcha puff. The matcha was not over powering and the cream had the right consistency. The drink I ordered wasn't overly sweet but forgettable. So if you are looking for a dessert spot after a dinner or craving something sweet in Flushing this is a place to go.
