A pleasant surprise to find a solid mala dry pot place in Denver! No frills dining experience but the service was fast and friendly. The spice level was perfect extra spicy is indeed extra spicy! and the flavors were good if not a little too strong/oily which is normal for dry pot, of course. Very generous portions sizes which justified the price point. Would love to come back and try some of the stir fry dishes too!
I was really excited for some good Orange beef. The Orange beef that I got was in a thick batter not crispy like it should be and the orange sauce, garlic chicken sauce and the egg drop soup looked like it was missing cornstarch, very liquidity not like sauces or soup should be. My daughters beef lomein was The only thing worth eating. I even asked for fried rice instead of the steam rice and I would have been happy to pay Extra for it but I was given steamed rice instead. Paid 60+$ for food that would have been better at a dollar chinese. I saw many good reviews so that's why I went out of my way to get food at this location. Very disappointed.
Small menu but after visiting a few times everything we’ve ordered is on point!! I personally LOVE the basil beef and the drunken noodles my husband is sick at the moment but says “even though I can’t really taste them right now they made such an impression that I can taste them with my mind. OMG babe, that’s the first thing I want. Yep. I want drunken noodles & salt / pepper shrimp. Also it’s worth noting that this is a small clearly family run business. These ladies are super sweet and have a great energy about them. Please be kind and respectful. There is a whole spectrum of places you can go and spend your time and money. Let’s do our part to support the ones genuinely worth it
I ordered delivery. It was fast and fresh. I had the pad thai shrimp and moo shu pork The pad Thai could have been a bit spicier...but overall very tasty and delicious. The Moo Shu Pork was awesome. Very flavorful. I would order both again! Vegetarian options: Most dishes had a vegetarian option.
Excellent food and wonderful service!! Their extensive menu covers all of the traditional comfort foods, but also provides authentic Chinese dry pot. It was our first time so we stayed in familiar territory with regular not pepper spice chicken breast. SO yummy!! Highly recommend!
I have a technique for finding great Chinese food - I look for places that serve sichuan peppercorns. Yum Yum Spice did not disappoint. The traditional tingling heat of the sichuan pepper was right up front in the Chinese Griddle that I ordered. My lunch was sort of a combination of hot pot & stir fry, with bold flavors and just enough spice to wow. Very fresh ingredients served up just right. So glad that traditional Chinese flavors are starting to become more readily available in the USA. Definitely try this restaraunt - outstanding. Fast, friendly service & a great dine in experience! I wish I could come back here often, but sadly... we were on a trip. Note, if you have never tried sichuan peppercorns, be sure to order a level down from your normal spice level. They are not the same kind of hot as the peppers we normally eat.
Been coming here for about 5+ years! SO, they have two menus, the one that has standard American takeout, and the one that has authentic Chinese comfort food & dishes. There’s also parts of the menu in full Chinese, which are some of the hidden gems. You’re going to find a great share of authentic, different & tasty food! Dry pot is a really unique meal to the Asian food scene here in Colorado, and it’s tasty! If you’re not used to Szechuan mala numbing spice it may be uncomfortable & new! Yum Yum does a good job at getting that numbing, spicy peppercorn flavor that is essential in this dish. Most of their menu items are tasty, and if you’re feeling adventurous, you can try something away from standard takeout food. Price point wise, some items are a bit pricier than you’d expect. We enjoyed mapo tofu & beef noodle soup, & I love their dry pot with intestines and lamb!!! Their tudousi potatoes are A+! PS. This isn’t a Thai restaurant so why order Thai food
Got takeout from this place, and it was quite delicious! I had the combo drunken noodles, which was really good. Everything had a nice, rich flavor, and the meats all had a nice char to them from how they were cooked. Overall, I was very impressed and will likely order from here again in the future!
My favorite restaurant in Denver! I like the tradition Chinese food! Now Chinese business is very difficult to running around the city! Thank you Yumyum Spice to keep up so we can eat good food! I’m very happy to see the good people given good and truth reviews! I love the “Da Bao Zi” the best bao in Denver!!
Would give a higher review but the lady running the place was basically trying to rush me out the door and was rude. Potstickers halfway cooked and Spaghetti noodle lo mein is unacceptable for 25 bucks. I’ve had way better at lower quality places. The only thing high class about this place is the decor.
