Best hidden gem in Grand Rapids. This place existed well before the JW or it's other high-profile neighbors. 
     The staff is personable. The drinks are well-made. The karaoke is good sounding of that is your thing. I honestly think the food is what sets them apart. Other than the casual appeal. The house made chips are amazing. The menu is diverse. It's a great spot with a lot of regulars mixed with visiting guests.

This place and staff makes you feel like you're home while you're out downtown! Love everyone there, great drinks and fun atmosphere. They have awesome food and karaoke certain nights as well!

Best ribs anywhere...PERIOD! Staff is friendly and the drinks are cold and good. Did I mention great ribs!? The other food is good as well.

If your looking for great food and drinks look no further Z's bar and restaurant is one hot spot downtown grand rapids with a range of food from ribs to pizza wings and salads, a full stocked bar full of favorites and a fine beer selection from draft to craft im sure they will have what your looking for.
There staff "even tho busy" tend to you at a fast pace while also giving you time to enjoy yourself and your company, a little loud at times but over all one of the great restaurants downtown to just be able to kick it and have fun. Also they have karaoke

Visited on a slower Sunday night with my husband. We were not greeted at the door and we sat ourselves. Server came to table with no greeting and took our drink order. Upon return asked if we were ready to order. We ordered an appitezer that they were out of and were not offered an alternative, server just said he would be back when we were ready to order. After we placed our order, my husband sat with an empty water and myself with my ID out clearly wanting to order a drink. After the server walked by us several times, I finally flagged him down to place my order.  Our food was brought out by another server and our server never returned to see how things were or if there was anything else we needed. The next time we talked to him was when we asked for the bill. My husband and I both work in restaurants and always give the benefit of the doubt to the server because we know the job can be very hectic and stressful. That being said, we are also great tippers. I hope this server took his 5% tip as an incentive to get better because he made an otherwise pleasant experience with the food and atmosphere into one that makes us doubt a return to the restaurant.
