I was charged with a felony dui and I had called several different law firms before hiring the Zabriskie lawyers.  The other law firms all left me feeling like my life was over and I was going to go to prison. I can't remember who I initially spoke with at Zabriskie but I remember immediately feeling better. I was told there was virtually zero chance I would go to prison and that the other lawyers I talked to were simply trying to scare me for some reason.  Why did those other lawyers lie to me!!! It makes me so mad even thinking about it! It turned out that my case was not defensible but somehow my lawyer got my felony reduced to a misdemeanor and miraculously kept me out of jail.  After reading my police report my lawyer directed me to start alcohol counseling immediately and get on vivitrol shots, so I couldn't drink. The judge was super impressed by how proactive I had been.  The judge told me to continue with what I was doing and allowed me to go home to my kids. Thank you!

I know I shouldnt of been drinking and driving but what can I say I made a mistake.  But I certainly don't think it was right to lose my whole life over it.  I got tons of letters in the mail from different lawyers wanting to be my laywer.  I met with one guy from the bulldog kickass law firm that promised me he could get my case dismissed for $5000. I found out later the guy wasn't even a real lawyer and the place wasn't even a real law frim.  I talked to a few other lawyers but none of them made me feel very good about what they were saying and they wanted tons of money to help me. I don't think I talked to Zabriskie himself when I first called but the person I talked to was very nice and seemed to care more then the other places. Short of it all they got me out of my dui and saved my life that I've worked so hard to build all my life!

Dean Zabriskie, thank you for your concern, your sensitivity, and your compassion in the handling of my son's case.  While today was certainly distressing, frustrating, and devastating, we appreciate the way you helped Brandon feel important and gave him hope.

We are praying that our son can feel the guiding hand of his Savior and that he receives the help he desires.  I do not believe the prosecutor's claims about the study she used.  Newer studies and analyses have debunked them, and the study author even later claimed it was being used inappropriately.  Newer longitudinal studies and meta-analyses do indeed show a low recidivism rate and also show return to community reduces recidivism more than incarceration.  Prison is not the answer, and I appreciate you for your passionate plea to keep him from prison.

Unfortunately, it appeared that there was clear bias against these types of cases from the Judge.  It seemed that this was one of his first such cases and that he had purposefully delcined such cases in the past before becoming a judge.  It also appeared that the was unaware of more current research data.  I am heartsick that the prosecutor made such an impact on the Judge's decision.  However, I am forever grateful for the fierce rebuttal you gave and the respect that the Judge had for your insights.  I know you helped mitigate what could have otherwise been even more devastating.  I pray that good can come out of bad and that our son can return home stronger for having gone through this experience.
