Since 1987, Santa Fe's premier destination for collectors of classic art of the American West.
Founded in 1987, Zaplin Lampert Gallery has become known as a major fine art destination on Santa Fe's historic Canyon Road. The gallery specializes in masterworks by the early artists of the Taos Society, the Santa Fe Art Colony, and American painters of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
Gallery partners Mark Zaplin and Richard Lampert grew up together in Massachusetts. In 1972, in the basement of a Boston bookstore, they found a large collection of photographs by the legendary Edward S. Curtis. This discovery, from Curtis's thirty-year project documenting the American Indian, led Mark and Richard to the West and to their careers as dealers in fine art.
