It's all good inside but lately there has been a fair share of panhandling and seedy characters milling around right outside the door. Managment should wise up and realize this effects business negatively. I feel like it's a toss of the dice going there after sunset. Being harrangued for cash or hustled for drinks is not cool in the slightest.

When I was bartending this was our place to go in a pinch. They had everything we could have needed.

Michael Buckingham sounds like a real wiener. I goto Z's almost every day (I work across the street) and love the convenience. I've never been harassed by anyone coming or going from the store. They have what I'm looking for and the employees are nice.

I go there only because it is hard for me to get to Meijer’s (I do not drive) and one of the only places near where I live open at night. And, being that they know they are the only store open and in downtown this is the reason their merchandise is so overpriced. They now require a $5 minimum purchase with a DEBIT and a credit card. I have spoken with MasterCard and they have told me this is against the store’s agreement with MasterCard. A week ago I sent this party store a letter explaining that their policy of requiring any minimum purchase amount for DEBIT cards is against the stores agreements with all card the major card companies. I went their today and they have still required me to purchase a minimum amount with a DEBIT card. This may not seem like a big deal, but it is when you are poor. I guess along with their overpriced merchandise they, once again, feel they must gouge the poor with their minimum purchase amounts. And, yes the store will argue, “We pay all these fees to accept DEBIT and credit cards. . . “ I heard this all before, but: 1) Their merchandise is overpriced. 2) These prices more than compensate for any card fees that are lost or are charged to them. 3) Because of the two above reasons there was NO NEED to impose a minimum amount. 4) They can accept CASH only, and they do NOT HAVE to accept DEBIT or credit cards but CHOSE to do so, knowing full well what fees they would be charged. 5) Because that the store CHOSE to accept DEBIT cards does not mean they should pass on the costs of their choice to me. So, the store is making amount wonderful here and the consumer is NOT. If the store claims their higher store prices are (or were) because of fees, then after they imposed their minimum transaction rule, why did the store NOT lower the prices? It is obvious that is NOT the reason they imposed their minimum transaction policy. I believe that it is in fact to gouge their consumers further. If the (convenience) store claims they charge higher prices for the “convenience” of shopping there, then why do they make shopping there so “inconvenient” when you want to use your DEBIT card and are forced to buy things you did not wish to? Some how or why is it I am paying their “convenience” store prices to be, in fact, inconvenienced by even going there?
