This is not a bad place for sushi. The sushi is above average. From such a fancy atmosphere, I expected more authentic sushi. Traditional sushi has wasabi between the fish and rice. The "real" wasabi wasn't as spicy as expected. The use of overly-sized shrimp for the Ebi was strange. Although, this seems fancier, it's hard to chew. As for the service, we didn't feel like our server liked his job. It felt like he wanted us to hurry up to eat, pay for our food, and get out because we were an inconvenience to him.
Great selection of sashimi and rolls. Fresh seafood and attentive service. None of the “overloaded doused in sauce” run of the mill options. Food tasted authentic and clean. Will go back here again for a meal next time im in NorfolkFood: 5/5
Felt like some sashimi after a long day of work and happen to see it close by my hotel, so I stopped by and ordered the sashimi meal to go. Sashimi was very good but was a bit disappointed with the miso soup. It looked like it was a mini size portion. Still, good tasting.Food: 5/5
I recently talked with Japanese person and we agreed that sushi of Zushi is very good. By the way, we are both Japanese. I was not so impressed by the Agedashi-tofu, and Tempra. They are just mediocre. just my opinion... Sorry BUT if someone ask me where to go for sushi, I surely mention this restaurant.
Me and my husband had an amazing experience dining at Zushi! I ordered the Salmon cocktail and Mt trashmore roll and he had the ramen and all of our food was excellent. The portions were reasonable and we both felt very full upon leaving. The service was on point as well, our server was very attentive and personable and we really enjoyed speaking with him. Overall the ambience was amazing, the customer service was great and the food was 10/10. Cannot recommend enough!
Zushi is one of my favorite upscale sushi spots. They serve a wide variety of hand rolls, sushi rolls, sashimi, dinner entrees and more. The food is absolutely fantastic every time, and I always get a creme brulee to end it off. Definitely recommend this spot. Its a bit on the pricier side but well worth it!
Perfect, every time. Fatty tuna is coming in Thursday/Friday and is gone by the weekend so get in early enough to have some. The tea has a toasted rice flavor which I absolutely love. Service, atmosphere, and everything else is well worth the 5 stars
We had the most wildly unpleasant dining experience it was almost comical. Right from the start, our server was curt and rude. He made us feel stupid for asking questions and not knowing the menu. We wanted to leave, but decided to stay and give him the benefit of the doubt. We ordered four sushi rolls, chicken teriyaki, and gyoza. The food came out relatively quickly - three of the four rolls that is. He mentioned that the fourth roll would be coming. We finished all of our food and the last roll did not come. We decided we no longer wanted it and asked for it to be canceled. The server did not apologize about the delay and actually made us seem like we were the inconvenience for not wanting food after receiving everything else. We also asked for additional ginger which turned out cost $3.50. We were not notified about this extra cost beforehand. Something to note, we had three rolls on one plate and received the amount of ginger probably given with one roll. Looking back and writing this review, he really was terrible. Not only was he unpleasant, but he was actively hostile and ruined the whole meal. I would not recommend this place based on his service alone and will definitely never come back.
Six-star eligible! Kevin, the proprietor-chef, is a culinary genius and perfectionist! The staff members he hires, trains and retains -- even among the youngest -- carry out his vision of meticulous, intuitively attentive excellence! The attached is an unedited photo I took of the freshly delivered chutoro, not commonly seen in Stateside Japanese restaurants. Positively amazing dinner experience!
Ordered rolls and appetizer for take out - everything tasted great, loved it! Classic Philly roll as a must have, Scallop Roll, Mt.Trashmore Roll spicy, and Beef Tataki Wasabi left us impressed - never thought it could have such a defined taste to it!
