Update: January 2024 Got the jjamppong again and the proportions are A LOT better. — I’m not sure if they changed management, but this place used to have better proportions in their food. I pretty much always get the jjamppong when I visit. They’ve been skimping on the seafood and now even the noodles by displacing the space with way too much cabbage and veggies. The seafood isn’t quite “fresh” and is probably thawed, so I’m not sure why they’re cheaping out. The service is very rigid and they won’t give you an extra bowl and offer to-go containers instead.
Been coming here for awhile. Service has always been rude, but we kept coming because the food was good. Came in the other day and guess what…. There was raw meat on the plate next to COOKED meat. It was hidden and under the main part of the course. I brought it up to the women at the cashier and she said it was okay, and that it’s not cross contamination and she could just cook it for us and give it back. Even though we’ve eaten 90% of the plate already… which by the way had been contaminated with raw meat. She also stated that this is how they store their meat in the fridge. Horrible.
If you order Ttangsuyuk, you'll notice just how paper-thin the meat is. I don't think the seafood in Jjampong was that fresh. I thought the staff was rude.Food: 1/5
The most horrible thing happen to be yesterday at this restaurant for my birthday meal. I had the black noodles which were not very good but I didn’t have any complaints and I took the sauce home and I thought I would give the meat to the birds and I was washing the sauce out and I found a big black long pubic hair and you know you can tell the difference Between head hair and one of those. It was the most horrible thing. Also it doesn’t have any flavor it’s not authentic tasting and the yellow kimchi is bland.
My jajangmyeion was decent. I got a Togo order. I used some spices from home because it was a tad bit bland. They also need to add more potato flour to thicken it up a little but overall tasty. The restaurant smelled a bit like sewage which is not their fault but I was off putting. Service was great and they tended to me as soon as I walked through the door.
Will come back for Jjamppong noodle! So spicy and good!
This delicious restaurant is conveniently located right next to Super H Mart. I was craving jajangmyeon and was thrilled to find a restaurant that served the dish. The service was friendly and quick, the food authentic. The portions are great!
Best Jjampong spicy seafood noodle soup and Tang Soo yuk that I've had in a while and I've eaten both with regular frequency... The price is right too. Don't go for the service... Focus on the food my friends.
Great food, reasonable price and portion is not small. There is no hospitality or service just like other self-serviced Korean restaurants in Dallas.
Jajjangmyeon was delicious and full of umami. The noodles are thick and chewy, well cooked and not soggy at all. My meal came with pickled radish and my noodles were topped with peas, although I was hoping for cucumber. I’ll know where to go for jajjangmyeon next time I’m in Carrollton!
