Food was ok, attitude not so good. Hate to say this but i saw manager and servers very nice to Americans and smiley faces and always checking up on them to make sure everything is ok, than to their own country men. Servers never bother to check up on you after they serve your order. If you want to just sit, eat food & leave then this place is for you. If you want to have good time or celebrate any occasion or expect good service then in my opinion this place is not for you. This is my experience from Last night on Feb 14th 2018 Valentines day.

We were here on Valentine’s Day (group of 7) today. We went to this restaurant because the decor is good. 
The service was slow.  That’s understandable because restaurant was 60-70% full. But even worse, servers were really rude. Every time we would ask something, like where’s restroom, can we get some water.. the response was very rude. There were all over the place. 
The restaurant closes at 10. A server came to let us know that the restaurant closes at 10. One of my friend had 1/4th glass of beer and he asked the server if he can give us 5-10 more mins to finish it. He just replied “No”. I have never been to a restaurant with this kind of attitude. Every restaurant let u stay a few mins if u are eating or finishing your drink.
Our overall experience was terrible and we would avoid visiting again. Also I would suggest my friends to avoid 1947 Indian restaurant. Food is ok, but if you are celebrating a occasion or just trying to have good time, this is not the place.

Moved from Fairfax, VA where I would eat at Curry Mantra. Turns out it's the same owners! Lucky me! The food was very good! I asked for spicy and I got it! Service was great! I will be back in the near future!!!!!

My husband and I love this place!! Seriously.... Everything we've ordered here has been delicious! I'm all about the biryani and garlic Naan. Do it!

Worst experience we ever had in an Indian restaurant. If I could give negative stars I would do that . Food was less than everage. Worst part was service. All the waiting staff seem to have attitude problem. We asked for water they acted like they didn’t hear us . We asked for fresh naan they completely ignored us. They ran out of utensils during buffet. They were keep rushing us to finish our food so we can leave. Literally standing on top of our head so they can pick up the dishes . Nobody ever came to ask if everything is ok . Come on we are giving you business and expect a decent service at least not an attitude. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to visit this place . Please take your business somewhere else if you wanna feel welcomed.
