Story

Founded on artisan recipes, we earned a distinct reputation for quality taste for the serious pizza eater. Starting with our daily hand-tossed dough, mixed with extra virgin olive oil, our award-winning pies are then topped with our private-labeled sauce, made from freshly-packed, vine-ripened tomatoes and covered with 100% Real Wisconsin mozzarella cheese. Each pie is then finished with only market-fresh toppings — from the little pepperoni that cups and curls on each pizza, to snow white mushrooms and crisp green peppers, to savory pepperoni and farm fresh sausage.

The name “Vocelli” represents our high quality products, including a wide variety of artisan pizzas made to signature taste standards. This happened quite some time ago, but it still stands out as the worst pizza ordering experience in my life, so I want to share my experience. I had ordered a large pizza and bottle of Diet Pepsi, simple enough. It was set to arrive at 6:00 PM, but it arrives roughly an hour later (not that I immediately fault that, I understand there are delivery routes that can complicate things). Anyways, when the driver finally arrives, he noticeably has no drink and told me I was supposed to have received a call from the manager. I had not received any calls whatsoever, and when I told him that, he seems to get visibly frustrated with me (apparently it's my fault the manager hadn't called), and tells me that they forgot my drink and that it was removed from the order total, bringing it down to $14.00. This is given to me in the form of a receipt with the actual amount crossed out and "$14.00" written next to it in pen, which I was hesitant to sign, but did so because I just wanted to eat. I also tipped $2.00, the lowest I've ever tipped, due to how poorly I felt the situation was handled and that the delivery driver was taking it out on me. Anyways, the pizza was NOT warm at all. Like, I've gotten pizzas that I've had to reheat, but this is the only time I've ever received one that did not feel warm in the slightest. It felt like it was sitting out of the oven for over an hour. After this, I just wanted a refund altogether. But the poor experience doesn't end there. Even though my total should have been $16, somehow it ended up on my credit card statement as somewhere around $20 (which is why I was hesitant to sign that fake receipt and never will again), even more than the original amount plus a $2 tip. So I tried calling the store to just get a refund altogether, and that was the only part of this ordeal that wasn't poorly-handled, with a very nice and professional-sounding woman saying that a manager wouldn't be in until after 5:00 and to call back then. But then when I do call back at that time, the person who answers says there's nobody around who can help me, and in line with blaming the customers for their own ineptitude, has this condescending tone like there's something wrong with me for believing that there would be. I ended up having to get the refund through my credit card company instead. To put it simply; late delivery, missing item, poor/condescending attitude from delivery driver, misleading receipt, cold pizza, overcharged, poor/condescending attitude from person on phone, and inability to get in touch with a manager. I don't think I've ever had a bad experience from any restaurant that included half as many problems, and for such a simple order. It's a shame, too, because the Vocelli from my hometown is much better managed, and the pizza is delicious -- when it's actually fresh. In short, avoid!

Based on pizza quality, it's average. But it's customer service is sub-par. Misleading delivery times given through the online ordering process. Thirty minutes after the delivery time, the order was no where to be seen. I called to cancel the order and requested a refund. Although a refund was promised, a charge showed up on my card.
