33 Carpenters did a fantastic job of replacing the hail-damaged roof on our home in Green Meadows West, Johnston, IA. Communication and follow-up from the company was excellent throughout the entire project. A company official met with us to explain the process for filing a claim and he worked with our insurance company. He gave us references and we were able to scope out roofs the 33 Carpenters installed in the metro area so we could look at various shingle colors. The project was started ahead of schedule and completed well-within the time we had been promised. Roofers were careful in their work and they did an excellent job of cleaning up the yard when the project was completed. We were impressed with the professionalism of the company employee who worked with us and we are very pleased with the new roof.
When our roof sustained significant hail damage in early September 2018 in Green Meadows West, Johnston, IA, we asked for 33 Carpenters to help us with an insurance claim and subsequent roof replacement. These folks are incredibly professional, working closely with us and our insurance adjuster to ensure the roof was appropriately inspected and repaired or replaced prior to the onset of winter. When it was determined that the roof would need to be replaced, we did not hesitate to ask 33 Carpenters to do the work. They exceeded our expectations by a country mile on all fronts: communication, construction, cleanup and commitment. The roofing crew was very careful not to damage landscape and siding, and the cleanup was very detailed. They worked tirelessly and finished the project in a few days. The roof is beautiful and the top quality work is very apparent. We are very proud of our new roof! Replacing a roof is a major construction project. 33 Carpenters was with us all the way, making sure we understood needed to be done, how much it would cost and his long the project would take. We highly recommend 33 Carpenters for your roof replacement.
They have great reviews on BBB, and will do all the leg work with insurance. It was a super easy and painless process. We had good salesmanship, follow through, and service. The roof went on in one day in November, when the days are short. The crew was impressive and great about cleaning up. There was a delay with the gutters, but we got it all in before the snow flew! After we got our roof, our neighbor went with 33 Carpenters for their roof too!
Wonderful service! Sam the contractor is awesome, made sure we were totally satisfied throughout the entire process. The foreman Rod our maybe Rob I can't quite remember was such a nice guy as well, came to our house after the process was done to help cover up some of our personal things in our yard because a bad storm was coming. Now that's service. Joe was also amazing, no bulls**t kinda guy you can trust. Love the leaf guard system we had him do. Overall we love our new roof and will be recommending 33 Carpenters whenever we can. I have to mention one more time how awesome Sam is: we weren't his easiest contract to say the least, but he always had a smile on and truly enjoyed getting our new roof for us. We are very happy.
33 carpenters did a great job replacing my hail damaged roof. Sam Mondanaro inspected my roof after the storm and recommended that I call my insurance company to send an inspector. Sam made the whole process from start to finish streamlined and easy. They finished my roof in one day. I would give them a call above anyone else if you think you have storm damage.
My experience with 33 Carpenters is very different than the other reviewers here. To sum up my experience, I would use the word “frustrated.” Initially, things seemed okay. The project manager said that I had his word that he’d be available for questions or concerns before, during, and after the project, for the life of the roof. Let me say that for us, that was simply not the case, as I’ll discuss later. When roofing began, the workers on the roof threw a number of old shingles and roofing nails into our above ground pool. To his credit, the project manager eventually came out, noticing the damage that was done, and covered the pool with a tarp. Unfortunately, by this point, the asphalt from the shingles had left a complete mess in our pool that we wouldn’t fully be able to get rid of until we drained the pool. Eventually, I had to text the PM a few days later to ask if there was any update with regards to getting our pool cleaned up. Again, to his credit, he brought over a pool vacuum from Menards and attempted to clean what he could. He left the pool vacuum, but it ended up being more than the vacuum could deal with. Also, in the process of putting our new shingles on, the roofers chopped too much of our existing fascia which we were not going to have replaced off on the front of our house, which looked pretty awful. I was promised that this would be fixed, but I waited a month and hadn’t heard anything, at which point I texted the project manager. After three days, I finally received a text back in which he claimed that his “phone has been acting up” and that’s why he wasn’t responding. After explaining that I wanted them to fix the fascia so I could be done with the process since I already had the insurance money and was ready to pay the bill, he finally put in a work order and offered to “throw in a 250 dollar credit.” I accepted this offer via text and the fascia was fixed. Then, a month later, after hearing nothing from my PM or anyone at 33 Carpenters, I reached out again, expressing my willingness to settle the account up and pay my bill. A week later, I get the certificate of completion emailed to me to sign, and I agree to sign it. I also wrote the following: “Please send the invoice to me when it's ready, indicating the completed roof and gutters, as well as the previously paid $5000 paid by check dated 6/14/19 and the $250 credit promised via text message on 8/8/19.” Of course, when the bill does arrive two weeks later, there is nothing about the promised $250 credit. At this point, I was frustrated and tired of dealing with the company. It had been nearly five months since the process started, and I simply wanted to be done. I paid the bill promptly rather than spend another month going back and forth about the credit. Now, a few weeks later, I am upset that I didn’t pursue what was promised to me by a company that I was initially happy to work with. It’s upsetting to me that the company I depended on to put a new roof on my home is one that I’m left feeling as though I can’t rely on. I hope you have a better experience than I did.
