Delectable sides and tender meats! You smell the meat from the parking lot. The restaurant has spacious cafeteria style seating. I walked in and glanced over the menu. I told the employee what I wanted and he put a meal together for me. I ordered moist brisket, Texas sausage, greens, corn, baked beans, and cornbread. Everything was Delicious. Tastes even better with the bbq sauce. Parking: Ample parking.
Stopped in for Tampa Bay Burger Week and tried their Brisket Burger. The place was large with long picnic table type seating. It was not a cozy ambiance, more of a clinical type vibe. Order, eat and move on. The burger is the only thing I've tried at this location. It was a nice meld of flavors. It was a brisket burger with melted cheddar, crispy fried onions, lettuce, tomato and 4R sauce. The surprise for me was the mushy burger patty. The texture of the beef was as if it were part raw but it was fully cooked. The weird beef texture is a mystery to me and it was a bit uncomfortable to eat. Something odd about your burger patty squishing out the sides of your bun on every bite. It did not affect the flavor however which was very good.
I have had this 2 other times and they were very good! I usually order the family BBQ sampler and get 4 different meats and 2 sides. The collard greens are very good, the beans are sweet and soft with a smokey aftertaste. While today's brisket was a little dry, previous times they were on point. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and savory, the pulled pork and pulled chicken were very good, and the sausage is also very good. Make sure you smother everything with their BBQ sauces! Their bread pudding is not that good, I've had better, but then again, I'm not a big fan of bread pudding. Can't wait until they put banana pudding on their menu. I am going to blame it on me taking too long to pick it up for take out this time as the reason why the brisket and ribs were a little dry today. Dry, but still tender. They did soak up that BBQ sauce though! Get the fatty parts for the brisket, that stuff is spectacular! I'm going to round up to 4 stars. The best BBQ I've had was in Charlotte, NC so far, though they say nothing beats Texas BBQ... unfortunately, I have yet to try any Black's in Texas yet... why did I order take out? Because nobody wants to see me chow down on BBQ in public!! It's a messy affair! Vegetarian options: Yes Parking: Yes Wheelchair accessibility: Yes
Their vegetarian tips sandwich is to die for! So many choices. Real glass bottled sodas available, as well as fountain. So much for everyone's dietary needs. Fantastic smoke! I truly recommend 4 Rivers Smokehouse.
We decided to come with excitement after reading all the wonderful reviews. The restaurant was clean, good decor details, cafeteria style. They weren’t busy at all which was surprising for the time and day we came in. We ordered burnt ends, pulled pork, ribs, sh corn, green beans, collards, French fries, and bread pudding. The portions were good. The food looked really great. Unfortunately, the taste and quality wasn’t there. The burnt ends were not burnt ends. Very disappointed in lack of flavor as well as trying to pass them off as burnt ends. Some of the other sides were also disappointing. The fries were cold, most everything was room temp and some foods had been sitting awhile. The best thing and it was really great, was the corn dish.
This was my first and last time here. Meat was cold. Portions were very small for the price and the service was mediocre. I can think of a better place to spend $50 The grease was dripping off the meat. I gave it one star because we were lucky and got fresh hot Mac and Cheese. I feel bad for the man in front of us who got the scraps left over from the previous pan. I gave it the second star because I had good company for a blah meal.
OK, I'm typically not one to go to a restaurant that has more than one location. This smokehouse will be an exception. I had the sausage, mac & cheese, and smoked jalapeño. Overall, it was fantastic. The sausage was perfect. The smoked jalapeños were tasty for certain. the mac & cheese was good, perhaps not enough crisp to it, but that's just a personal opinion. The prices were reasonable, the serving sizes appropriate. The service was good, typical line order. The only room for improvement that I could see was educating line workers on the products they are selling. I asked if the Texas BBQ was from Texas, they had no idea. There are a few companies that I am aware of that are in Texas and sell sausage to BBQ restaurants, which was the reason for my question. Just for kicks, I asked the gal if the jalapeños were good, she said she had never tried them. Neither one of these are issues at all, just observations. There is nothing that I enjoy more than trying to get a word or two in with the people who are making the food. Anything more than that and it becomes rather pleasant. It's awesome when you encounter someone behind the counter, they know each one of the foods, they've had them, tasted them, critiqued them. Again, just observations. Overall I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Loved the Beyond burnt ends melt. It was dry, but nothing the extra BBQ sauce didn't fix. As a vegetarian, I loved it. My husband got the beef brisket, and actually preferred my sandwich over his own. It's about 10.00 a sandwich without sides. Loving the flavor of the beyond burnt ends. Update...The beyond burnt ends Vegan melt is even better for some reason today, tasted fresher and not dry. It's a must try!
Way too overpriced for nothing but fat. Most of the pulled pork was clumps of fat. The brisket sandwich came with more fat than meat. Couldn’t eat any of it. I’m shocked they would serve this to anyone. All the sides weren’t even worth eating either.
First time eating here just now and I love it, best Brisket I’ve ever tasted. The sides were great too, will def be coming back more often Parking: Great location, easy to find, lots of parking.
