Every time i come here they’re always so nice and the waitresses are very attentive! The spinach dip IS THE BEST THING ON THE MENU! 10 out of 10 must try again. The fish tacos are amazing as well. If you like fish also they’re lemon drops are sensational. The fried green tomatoes are good too! I would recommend 501 for a bite whether you’re dining in or on the go.

Recently had lunch at 501 grill. Good drink selection for beers. Little disappointed they didn’t have any happy hour specials though. The prices are little on the higher side, especially for Flint. A Entree will cost you 18 dollars minimum. The food was ok, i got the catfish on top of cheddar mash potatoes. It looked great but felt a little underwhelming. The fish could used little more flavor. In the end, it seems like an ok place. The saving grace was the service, our waiter was extremely attentive and did a terrific job. Super friendly and very welcoming.

A cool downtown restaurant with a nice vibe.  BUT it didn’t deliver in the food end of it.  To start we order the spinach and artichoke dip with pita chips.  It was delivered with three dinner rolls, they were out of chips.  Would have been nice to know before it was placed on the table.  For the main course my first choice, Jalapeño Catfish, I was informed they were out of that too as well as the lamb chops.  So back to the menu, the Mrs. ordered the Steak and Onion sandwich, which was dry and flavorless which was surprising due to the amount of onions on it.  I had the Yaki Soba Stir Fry.  Sadly the dish was very heavy handed with a sauce that seemed out of a can.  If it wasn’t it had way too much soy sauce in it.  Overall a big disappointment.  I’ll try another downtown restaurant next time.

Nicely decorated and good cozy vibes, service was quick and friendly, very kind and thoughtful that they will cover your parking as well up to 5 dollars. Had the steak sandwich and it was very tasty!

My family reunion was this weekend, having 501 host the final event for this weekend was tremendous. Jamie and the staff where outstanding. And, Poppa Lee, had a opportunity to play live blues for the 1st time for his great-grandchildren

First visit, in Flint for an art show. Ordered the fish tacos, and ceasar salad, delicious! Good sized portions, even for the side salad. Attentive service. I'd definitely patronize again if I ever go back to Flint.

This was the first time we have eaten here, definitely will not be the last! Alan was our server and explained the menu perfectly. Thoroughly impressed that he took the time to discuss what my wife could eat with her allergy. Food was absolutely delicious!

Staff was friendly BUT… 3 fruit flies went into my food that was very bland. Then 2 more jumped on me. I was disgusted! I told the waitress who btw was like “oh I’m so sorry that happened to you. I showed her the bug and she didn’t offer to take money off the bill or anything. Gross!!! Never going there again.

The dates were fantastic! We got 3 different apps & a friend had a order of fish & chips for $18… the steak bites were over cooked medium rare is what we asked for but nbd. We also got the lettuce wraps & they had a good amount of spice & flavor. I’d say it was pretty good, but $65 for 3 people with only one “entree” , meh…

This was my first time there and to be honest, I won't be going back and won't recommend it to anyone else. The restaurant does have a good vibe and my server was friendly and attentive.  Food on the other hand, was overpriced and bland. I ordered the steak sandwich and it was DRY with very little flavor. I think it would be better if it had any kind of sauce but it was dry meat, dry cheese, and dry bread. After reading other reviews, I realize that'spretty normal here.   My husband got the chicken and waffles which he liked but he said that the sauce was not nearly as good as last time he was there, and I thought for the price the portion should have been a little larger.  They do have a decent drink menu.  There are several other restaurants downtown that I would recommend before this place for food, but if you are just drinking it would be good.  Otherwise, go to Churchills.
