Why the name, 7 Monks Taproom?
Trappist beer are ales brewed by or under control of Trappist monks. Yes, we said monks. There were a total of 174 Trappist monasteries worldwide (as of April 2011); only seven (six in Belgium and one in the Netherlands) produced beer and were authorized to label their beers with the Authentic Trappist Product logo. Hence the name when we opened our first location in Traverse City.
We have thirty-even rotating taps of delicious craft beer, cocktails, and wine along with our ever-changing bottled beer selection. We always serve seasonal/specialty craft beers from Michigan and beyond.
Oh, don't forget to try Chef Kyle's food...you won't be disappointed as there is something for everyone.
