I could not imagine any of my employees or my self speaking the way this women Terry spoke to me at this place. My sister rents a storage with them and she has recently become homeless with 3 kids. She is running about 12 days behind on her payment She is well aware she can not get in her unit till it is paid. She spoke to I believe is owner a few days prior to this to ask if she could get her birth certificate out so she could get a ID to cash her check and pay them. The women was very kind and understanding and said yes.We called to let them know we were on our way today to come so we can get her birth certificate The women working Terry was immediately rude and said you pay your bill I'm not letting you in I explained very nicely the situation she began to get hostel and loud and began screaming would not even listen to what the owner said was OK. I have contacted MSSA and this is not the 1st complaint about this facility :( My opinion to the owners GET NEW A EMPLOYEE! Because Her behavior is bad for your business. I just would like to add that I had a friend call to resolve this since Teri was so out of control and a women name Janet the one I spoke to first thinking she was nice I was wrong she is just as rude as the other and still no resolution We are Tenants trying to pay a bill and they are now giving the run around! In my opinion they are trying to let it go to auction so they can snoop through peoples belongs and take what they want...But We will have the police escort us to pay and Please remember we are not the only people who have a similar issue with them They have very nasty employees all 3 of them Teri,Janet,Chris :(

The management is rude, if you are 30-45 days behind in rent you recieve threatening emails where they tell you your items will be put up for auction. They seem to have an attitude that would align with them being the only game in town. I swapped bank accounts due to moving, and didn't put them on auto pay and ever since I have been treated like a second ate citizen - despite paying all late fees for my neglagence. They also have odd weekend hours (short), doors that don't easily open or shut, dim light in interior hallways (I checked them out even though I have an outside unit) and told me I needed to put down pallets in case water got inside my unit. Nice Look elswhere, there is a brand new facility within a couple of miles, American Self Storage and many more in he area who would appreciate your business I am sure.

Nothing more than sour grapes from a tenant who feels he shouldn't be required to pay rent as agreed. To be "rude", "threatening", or treat a tenant "like a second class citizen", would be both unprofessional and bad business. Maine State Law requires us to notify a tenant who is over 45 days past due, their unit is eligible for auction. We consider this a "fair warning", not a "threat". We advise potential tenants Acorn is open 7days a week, but not 24hrs. a day for access. If that kind of access is required, we refer to facilities who can provide it. Tenants are told, "because of the way Acorn was designed, water does not back up into units, but cement will wick small amounts of moisture from the air". So we offer to put pallets in any area where cardboard boxes, mattresses, box springs, etc., will be placed, to prevent direct contact with the floor, there is no charge for this. "Steve" is about to receive his second auction notification in less than a year. Because of his poor payment history and uncooperative attitude, Acorn decided to send him a Notice to Pay and Vacate his unit. "Steve" has declined, saying he would do so when "he" saw fit. "Steve" has been belligerent, argumentative, insulting and now vindictive. "Steve" says he will damage Acorn's business by posting negative reviews on every search engine he can. He even sent a preview of this review via email, with the salutation "Cheers". Acorn has hundreds of satisfied tenants including many who return to rent again. This would seem impossible if the accusations "Steve" makes in his review were true. We ask you keep an open mind and suggest you give us a visit. Decide for yourself if Acorn is right for you.
