Absolutely not! I would never recommend this place to anyone. Only after our stay, did we realize we had been had. We we're lured there by lies. We made the reservation over the phone and we were told that our stay in the cabin would be $64, but we would need to put down a refundable reservation fee of $250, with $50 of that being kept for housekeeping. When all was said and done, we payed $370 for two nights in the dumpiest campground I have ever been. The cabin was beautiful, the campground looks as if it was just reopened after being abandoned for years. There was extremely expired food in the fridges in the camp store. They said there was WiFi, but there was not, neither was there cell service. The wildfire had gone through there recently and charred most of the mountain. There is a train that goes through just a few yards away from your head, literally, and it blares all night long. The playgrounds are broken and dangerous. There are uncovered drainage holes where a child can fall near a picnicking area. We NEVER would have driven up into the mountains to stay at this mess, had we known what we were going into. The owners refused to make good on the deal they quoted us, and KOA refused to get involved. To me, that speaks loud and clear of what a low caliber the KOA organization is. We will NOT ever deal with KOA again. This place in particular needs to be inspected, and shut down. May as well stay at the re-hab inmate camp up the road. They probably at least have a phone signal.

I totally agree with Michael Wilborn! And...I called to make reservations for a cabin for 2 nights. I was told it rented for $64 per night. I was told $250 deposit ($50 for cleaning fee and $200 would be returned after inspection). Sounds great! Beautiful 8 person cabin with everything. After returning home I noticed my account was correctly charged $250 deposit and $128 for 2 nights. Several days passed and the $200 has yet to be returned. I emailed them and they stated that is wrong and no money will be returned. The cabin is $210 per night for a total of $420 and because I'm a KOA member I get a discount of 10%. So $420-$42=$378. They also said that the $250 was not a deposit but a reservation fee. I WAS DECIEVED! I contacted KOA for representation and they told me the campground (like most) is independently owned and operated and there's nothing they can do!!! Wow it just keeps getting better!! So what do they do with all that membership money besides provide an app and pay some secretary who says they can't help! My word against the campground... frustrated and screwed out of $200! Beware!

Upside: Very nice campground. Wonderfull for large groups. The new owners are super friendly and aim to please. Office staffvand ground crew work very hard to make your stay fulfilling. There is plenty of very nice well manicured grass in the tent areas. Very nice playground area for the kids. Large pool. RV sites are spacious and have plenty of shade. Downside: Some of the long term residents are a bit grumpy. The gas fire rings that they rent out tend to malfunction and hoses and pressure regulators leak gas. RV sites are a bit too dusty and need some gravel on the roads surrounding them. Some people drive too fast leaving a cloud of dust behind them.

Very beautiful and quiet place in October 2017. Free Showers. Saw a coyote walking in the dry stream-bed sitting outside our camper. We loved the trains, they only come often during rush hour. People waved to us, so much fun, at night you can see all the lights from the metro link. Lots of beautiful birds. Great place to hike.

Friendly and all the amenities a hiker needs except maybe sleep. They have a train that passes by throughout the night and road that starts up at 4am.
