Full of homeless people. Police showed one night up as they attacked a hiker

As of August 2017 there are reports of not always friendly homeless people living at this campground.  Be careful.

Great close place to check out the creek after a rain. Too many people for nature loving backpacking

Proximity and ease of entry make it a great overnight spot. Bike packed in with a buddy, we rolled just hammocks and it was no problem. 5ish fire pits. No water. There are toilets. Great place to shake down your gear and test it out before you head into real wilderness. Note though it is a free and open camp ground and attracts some interesting people, transient types camp here year around so just keep your wits about ya and it'll be fine.

Great place to go hiking with the family. The decent is steep, meaning that you have a steep hike or when you are done.
