I have known Marilyn for over 20 years and her and her family have always been there supporting Santa Fe's vibrant communities.   She has been a great resource for all things Santa Fe, especially when my wife and I were looking for a vacation home for our wedding.  Marilyn and Adobe Destinations went above and beyond to ensure that we found the perfect casita within walking distance to where all our family and friends were staying.  It was truly an unforgettable experience and we highly recommend Adobe Destinations and Marilyn Proctor for anyone looking for the best homes to rent in Santa Fe!

Do not book a rental with Adobe Destinations unless you don’t mind being hassled constantly by Marilyn. She is terrible at communicating and refuses to address issues over the phone, preferring only email. She used the housekeeper and other service people to scrutinize and report back to her how clean and tidy we were keeping the house during our 3-month stay and then confronted us about it (via email, of course) abruptly and rudely. When I spoke with one of the service people about this, she was apologetic and said that Marilyn has a reputation for poor customer service. Even after we assured Marilyn that we were taking good care of the house AND scheduling housekeeping service once a month as per our contract, she continued to badger us (via email) every few weeks about housekeeping, threatening “excessive cleaning charges” several times.
Furthermore, a miscommunication between Marilyn and the owners brought them home a day early, surprising us the evening before we were to check out at 10am. Fortunately, we had planned on vacating the house early and were just finishing packing up our things, so we simply exchanged some pleasantries with the owners and left. Even though we had stripped the linens, we left the house in good enough condition for the owners to enjoy their first night back and even delay the arrival of the housekeepers the next day. We received no email from Marilyn apologizing for the confusion or thanking us for leaving early and leaving the house clean and tidy.
Adobe Destinations offers some beautiful rentals, but dealing with Marilyn is not worth it. Book with someone else.

Marilyn and Adobe Destinations offer the best vacation rentals in Santa Fe. From start to finish, Marilyn gave us the most incredible customer service - offering restaurant suggestions and museums to visit. Not to mention the home we stayed in was spotlessly clean, comfortable, and in an amazing location. Our family vacation to Santa Fe was one to remember, and a big part of that is in thanks to Marilyn and Adobe Destinations.

We needed to rent a house in Santa Fe in August. We were looking on line for a place.  We went through at least 50 properties. 
A house in South Capital came on the radar screen. We talked to Marilyn at Adobe Destinations.  We rented it from the pictures on her website.  What isn't  shown is the attention to detail. Whatever you need it is in the drawers and it WORKS! This is not the case in a lot of rental property. 
Rent from them if you are in Santa Fe so you can concentrate on having fun everything else is taken care of.

Marilyn Proctor is simply the best. We have used Marilyn for the last 30 years. And she never disappoints. She is timely, she is professional, she is consistent, and she always leaves us feeling satisfied. Her houses are the absolute best in Santa Fe!
