My experience with Agora has been nothing but great. As someone who has been to Catholic, Public and now Cyber School, Agora has been the best fit for me. Homework is minimal, however there is enough to help a student retain information and stay engaged. What other reviews fail to mention is, all the quizzes assigned to students have the ability to be retaken should the student need to do so. Daily "tests" have an average of five questions. It really is not that much to ask of a student. Previously I was assigned an average of an hour and a half of homework sometimes up to two hours at Public and Catholic School. Never have I had such an overload of homework at Agora. Teachers will go out of their way to help a student, they offer one on one study sessions and even provide a phone number to call if a student needs a question answered ASAP. Agora is like a breath of fresh air and a great alternative to traditional schooling, but not to be mistaken for "an easy way out".

My daughter has been going to this school for 4 years now. I do agree with some of the negative comments about homeroom . She DOES get homework, she is in 7th grade, she should be getting it. She should be challenged. I expect nothing less! My daughter went from getting F's in public school to straight A's in Agora Cyber School. Her confidence in herself is just amazing. Her teachers push her because they know she can do the work, because they care. My daughter is autistic and public school told me in her IEP "that as long as she was progressing with her special education teachers don't worry about the F's! She wasn't EVER going to get much more." I took her out of public school and we have been with Agora ever since. It was the best decision I ever made!! As for the Family Coaches, mine let's us know when activities are going to happen and she does come to the house. They have to see where my daughter is learning, that is completely understandable. We aren't in a public school and they need to report if we have a safe learning environment. After all your home IS your school!

The worse thing you can do is place your child in this charter school. If they are very young then yes, then find a more productive setting of learning for their bright future. With this charter school their is non. And if anyone else says this then it's the administrator's posting good review's not the parent's nor student's. I've spoken to over a few hundred parent's who's either withdrawing them or have already taken steps to find another school for them to really learn. If you have a very young child then yes outside of middle school it's a no no. Forget the review's that seem to be so beneficial to the school someone working their obviously made for likes. I've spoken to over a few hundred parent's within the 6 year's I've had my child their. It's gotten so worse through time, that it's not worth the effort because the student's is better off in regular school's within your neighborhood . You rather go that route than cyber charter. Once they are in homeschool high school it's like they go backwards. Theirs no help what so ever from administrator's period. They do not respond to phone calls, emails, even a friendly in person visits with important issues as problems that needs address. Theirs no help just leave an email and weeks and weeks later if you're lucky you'll receive a response but not what you were expecting as far as help with classes, log in , no access to materials in order for class period. The only blessings is that we've had some beautiful teacher's who goes 1,000 out of 10 for us while other's I've spoken hasn't gotten this. And their child now in high school is not, have nor learnt anything. Many parent's and student's I've spoken to left as I stated or in the process because you're basically on your own. No help our response from administrator's when it's important. I've spoken to a few hundred over the last 6 year's and thing's gotten worse they had to withdraw in order to get their child back in regular school to begin the learning process. Their is no parent support community within the school on the administrator's part. If you can't log in to even accessing class connect to computers working. Just pre recorded messages coming to your email or phone. Look at the graduation and drop out rate to student's finding other school's, job corps. Not even finishing school out of the few hundred parent's I've spoken to within the 6 year's. Numbers don't lie like review's

Great school so far. However, I only see students like myself fail whenever their legal guardians are irresponsible, and when students are truant and not dedicated. Keep in touch with the staff: keep up with your work, go to conventions and most importantly you ask for help!

They are only about saving money. They have the cheapest equipment that keep breaking down and/freezing. The teachers are ok but I had to change schools so that I don't have to deal with the technical issues and my child missing classes because the laptop is so outdated.
