I was having overheating issues while driving to Tuscon From Phoenix. Had my vehicle towed to Airpark Auto Mechanic thought they were trusted because they are AAA approved. This was not the case. It was after hours and there is no drop box to leave keys. When talking to the mechanics they seem very nice the whole time i talked to them. When it came to a diagnosis. They tried to charge me $500.00 for a diagnosis, $300 to see if the engine block was cracked and $200 to $300 to get the head and valves tested. This price was outrageous to just diagnose the issue. Paid to have my vehicle towed to another mechanic and it turned out that it just needed a thermostat and new water pump total cost of repair $355.00 at another shop. Dont trust how nice these people are.

(In reference to the last review) The customer wanted to know what it would cost to check out his overheating problem. The customer said he had driven his Jeep for over a mile while the temperature gauge was in the red. We explained to the customer if the head gasket was blown, the cost could be around $500.00 to replace the head gasket and about $200.00 to $300.00 for machine shop work if needed. We performed and engine block check and the fluid changed color immediately, which indicated and internal engine problem. We told the customer several times on the pricing and he kept getting the pricing turned around. (The conversation was all done by phone.) We haven"t had a problem like yours before, but we do stand behind our work.

I really trust this mechanic. He's very straightforward, doesn't try to weasel money out of you, and gives you options when you need an expensive repair (such as, how long you could safely wait to fix it, cheaper things you could do to fix it, and the best possible fix). His wife is also kind and friendly. They offer rides home while you are waiting for your car if you live in town, and in general they are respectful, honest, and forthright. Good, trustworthy people!

This is a wonderful repair shop. They are honest and do a great job. At other shops I have felt I may have been taken advantage of but not here. I will take my car to Airpark Auto Repair for all its repairs. It is a 2002 Honda Civic with 110,000 miles and with this mechanic taking care of it I am sure it will last me another 7 years!
