Welcome to Al dente Ristorante, central New Jersey's masterpiece of genuine old-world Italian cuisine. Host and Chef Carlo Orrico caters to savvy, sophisticated diners with excellent standards of food and service, and as his lunch or dinner guest you are sure to enjoy a traditional yet creative meal and first-rate service by an attentive and gracious staff.

As Al dente's executive chef, he prepares and serves traditional Italian fare that is representative of the major regions of Italy. Menu items are widely copied but never duplicated - each is prepared using the freshest and finest-quality ingredients, cooked to order and certain to please both the palate and the soul. In addition, Al dente's award-winning wine list offers an extensive array of choices to complement any dish and enhance your dining experience.

Al dente's main dining room and the private banquet areas provide tastefully elegant surroundings with imaginative decor that is reminiscent of a 17th-century Italian villa. The newly enhanced outdoor patio provides a pleasant atmosphere for alfresco dining with a privacy fence, awning, radiant heat and soft, subtle music.

Charming Italian restaurant somewhere in the outskirts. Friendly staff - very knowledgeable about the kitchen offerings. Food is delightful. Gigantic plates - make sure you are hungry when you go there. Decor is somewhat special. Plenty of parking space available.

Nice Italian restaurant tucked away in a strip mall. Service was good, wine list was extensive and food was made well. Their off the menu specials are where they stand out. If I'm in the area and in the mood for Italian I would return

Visited on Friday , we got there relatively early. No problem getting a table without reservation. The food was average nothing separate it from any decent Italian restaurant. However the service was slow and not very attentive, given they only have one server and a helper. A few mistakes was make like giving drink that we didn't order and give us the desert when we just finished our appetizers and took away without explanation. Everything was slow , we ended up spent almost 3 hours there. I don't think I will go back.

This was my first time here and I'm definitely not going back. The food was mediocre at best, way too salty. More importantly, the service was terrible. Staff was unprofessional, can't handle a rush and one staff member even told us "I only have 2 hands". We waited close to 1 hour for just our salads. My group spent close to 3 hours there for lunch and not once did anyone even come by to check on us. I was dying of thirst because I needed water. Unbelievable. Decor is completely outdated by decades. This place only gets 2 stars just because the food was average. If the food was bad, definitely one star.

This place is amazing! Every single thing is great! I don’t know what anyone is talking about with it being “dirty” or the staff being “rude”. Clearly whoever said negative things about this place has no experience around a restaurant business or in the industry. From atmosphere to the decor, words can not describe our satisfaction (both my wife and I). The individuals continually asked if our food was good, we found any issues or there was anything more they could do to make our experience better. The quality, quantity, service and atmosphere were all unmatched! I’m speechless and will definitely be coming back for years to come!
