Al's Supermarket is more upscale than Meijers or Kroger, at least they would like you to think so. I don't know if the quality of the food is better but it seems to be pricier. To be honest, I only went there because it was convenient. 
I asked where their gluten free section was? I was informed that, like Kroger, it was all mixed in with the non-gluten food. However, the food is not labeled so you have to search for the gluten free items. Most, not all, of the gluten free items at Kroger are labeled as such.

Great deli and meat selection. Always fresh! Quick check out allows me to get in and out with zero problems.

We love the meats from the butcher counter. St. Louis style pork steak, Pig Wings, Garlic Butter chicken breasts. Great place to shop.

My place to shop in Michigan city. Yeah it's more expensive than Meijer or Walmart most of the time. But its not a major corporation. They have more upscale type foods you can't find anywhere else. Very well stocked and the employees are great.
