I would like to make people aware of the exemplary professionalism of Ray Vanyo who works for AC Public Works Dept. I recently placed a request for a work order regarding obstructive foliage on Parker Road near an unsafe intersection at SW 24th Ave and Parker Rd. This foliage caused decreased visibility looking to the south and to the north. Drivers had to position their vehicles past the "white line" on SW 24th actually almost into the intersection to see traffic before turning. This position made south bound traffic turning left onto SW 24th difficult as well. To assess the degree of trimming, Mr. Vanyo positioned his vehicle behind the "white line" where cars should stop on SW 24th when turning onto Parker Rd. In this way he was able to make sure the foliage was trimmed to increase visibility to the north and south of the intersection to help insure safety and decrease the risk of an accident. He then personally called me to thank me for requesting the work order and related what was done . He also asked that I contact him personally on his cell phone should the foliage growth return to an unsafe level before his crew identifies it as a problem again. Thank you Ray, Dan Hawkins
