Found out that it's a good idea to have an appointment. I'm not used to that. Barber shops I'm familiar with don't even have an appointment book.

I've been looking for a new barber since I moved, so I decided to give Alex a try. I called him to make an appointment, and asked if I could come in at 6:30 cause of finishing work, and the awful traffic around here during rush hour. His reply was: 

::Heavy Sigh::
"You can't get here by 6pm?"
"No." I said, "I won't make it there by 6, cause of the traffic around here. I can make it there by 6:30."
::pause::
"Ok," he said, rather reluctantly. "I'll see you at 6:30 tomorrow. Try and get here earlier if you can."

I didn't really appreciate the long pauses and sighing, but maybe he was having a bad day or something. Since I was a new customer, I had no idea what his hours were when I called. Obviously, I took it as he closes at 6 that day. Therefore, since he was willing to stay open for me an extra half hour, I went to the ATM to get extra cash, to give him a generous tip. 

I showed up the next day, amazingly making it there early at 6:15pm. I looked in and the place was completely dark, and the door was locked. Alex stood me up. 

If you don't want to stay open for me, I totally get it, but just tell me that over the phone so I don't waste my time driving to an empty barber shop. I don't know if he just forgot about me, or if it was intentional, but I won't be back to find out which one it was.
