It's a small zoo but it's nice. They have a lot of different holiday events like zoo bio for Halloween and a Christmas event. For a small zoo, they have several big animal exhibits like bears, lions, tigers and several other kinds of big cats, wolves, alligators, sloth, several different types of monkeys, snakes and reptile exhibits, and at certain times in the year they have a bug exhibit which is pretty cool. They have a nice gift shop but it's kind of expensive. The fees to get in are inexpensive though

I have been to alot of zoos from Detroit to NoLa and the zoo in Alexandria is my favorite. They may not have the bigger animals like elephants and giraffes but they have more than most zoos in a better layout and more shaded areas. Me and my family love this zoo!

Pretty good zoo for a day outing. This zoo has quite the impressive array of birds to see, and I loved seeing the otters as well as the tigers. The walking flow of the zoo is not that well planned out...or at least it feels that way but perhaps the construction they were doing hampered the normal routes to be taken. I wish they would have had a better reptile house as well. All that being said, I had a wonderful outing with the wife at this zoo.

Great little zoo. I love all of the bamboo that lines the paths. Great atmosphere. Make sure to feed the fish!
