The broker didn’t reveal they were a broker. Once paid they stop communicating, said they would call me back and never did. The movers just threw my stuff in the box. My stuff was in storage while I looked for a place moving from VA to NY and by the time I realized belonging were damaged it was past the 90 day mark. Highly do not recommend. Poor communication too.

I decided to reach out to Allied as Forbes ranked them #1 for long-distance movers.  I worked with Lori Sabbatino Brandon Transfer & Storage and had a wonder experience. Lori visited us at home, and was extremely thorough and efficient during her survey. I received clear and detailed inventory sheet and quote within a few hours. Lori was very transparent with pricing. Because Allied and Brandon are full-service moving companies, it will cost a bit more than PODS or other container shipping companies, however labor packing and loading is included so we don’t have to worry about the hassle or cost of hiring additional helpers/movers. Ask for Lori if you live in NY too for excellent service.

Please do yourself a service and do not by any means use allied van lines. Everyone there is nice enough, sure, but the flagrant disregard for their own agreed-upon service will leave you wondering why you paid thousands of dollars for them to break most of the things you own.  In my case, I was told to self-pack my things. These included a few picture frames and my television, all of which were wrapped upon pickup. Somewhere in between pickup and temporary storage these were all removed from their packing with no reason provided. By the time they were picked up all of them were broken. On top of this, they will tell you that the insurance you paid for doesn't give anything extra for breakage as it covers "all reason" including them disregarding the contract you signed with them.
