Wonderful dining experience. Loved the Hen of the Woods mushrooms so much we had two. Locally sourced food works so well with their preparations. Great service and our server had spot on recommendations. Definitely will be back!

Allium They added extra tip money to CC. We had no cell service, and went to Allium on the recommendation of a New England guide book. We all ordered the falafel, mine with toast, and two without. Little did we realize that visually, the toast was two thirds of the presentation. I don't mind paying their $$$ for dinner, but at these prices, the "chef" in the kitchen should have plated the toastless entrees in a much more pleasing display. Instead we got the falafels all to one side, and a huge empty plate that screamed "remember, you didn't want the toast"! Out of courtesy, a reasonable substitution should have been made. Not at Allium. We asked the waiter if he agreed that the plates looked empty, and if we could possibly get a small plate of mixed greens. Ready? He said the restaurant did not have salad components. Mind you, this town had a complete farmers market that same afternoon. He did return to the table with a cup of spinach greens, which did compliment the meal, but should have been in place when the plates came to the table. Now the worst part was the bill. Our friend was treating us, and we offered to leave the tip. She put the bill on her credit card, and we left the tip in cash. Later that night she checked her CC online, to find that the waiter had added $8.00 for himself. Now the only server who deserves high praise is the waiter that tended our water glasses. Not only were our glasses full all evening, he was very polite and professional. The food we did have, tasted fine, however $$$ establishments should be judged on so much more than flavor. This one fails. I will update as the situation unfolds . . . The manager returned our friends call, and responded, "it's normal, and happens all the time" . The young man would do nothing for her. She is now waiting to hear back from the owner.

Great food. Great drink. Warm atmosphere and friendly charismatic staff. My new favorite in the Berkshires. A definite need to visit locale.

Way overpriced. They also had a "special menu" the night we visited in celebration of their anniversary but there was no warning of that until after we made reservations and were seated with drinks. Service was great though.
