About

Inventive drinks, delicious food and authentic, old-world ambiance!

Story

Set on the grounds of historic Frederick Law Olmsted Park, constructed by the landscaper in in the mid 19th century. Your dining experience will take place in the former Union Station, designed by renowned architect, Henry Hobson Richardson. The thirty-foot ceilings and high brick arches make the space feel open, but the friendly atmosphere and collection of train and railroad memorabilia keep our dining hall feeling cozy and warm.

The private lot is just off of Main Street in the heart of Palmer, and visitors are immediately sent back in time as they reach the original Palmer Union Station dirt road. The building is the final stop on Depot Road, and is wedged between two rail lines with trains coming and going all day long. Families are welcome to roam the grounds, watch the trains, and experience our onsite Heritage Museum. This open-air museum features a variety of vintage transportation, including a 1909 New Haven Railroad passenger car, an 1890 Wells Fargo hotel-style Stagecoach, a 1920s Pumper car, various sleighs and wagons, and a gorgeous 1915 Porter Steam Locomotive & Tender.

We pride ourselves on our fresh seafood, our inventive weekly specials, and generous portions of New England comfort food. Even picky eaters will find something delicious, and healthy, on our kid's menu. We also have a full bar, a variety of wines and local craft beers, plus moonshine and specialty drinks, including our signature drink, the Locomotion.

We are known for our excellent Lunch Buffet each Wednesday from 11 am to 2 pm, and our Breakfast Buffet every Sunday starting at 9 am to 12 pm. People all over know of our delicious Prime Rib Dinners! (served every Thursday through Saturday). Come try it for yourself and discover what a great experience our delicious food and authentic, old-world ambiance is!

Love Steaming Tender! If you're looking for a restaurant that has a huge selection to choose from, this is the place! The lamb special offered this evening was excellent. Cooked to perfection and very flavorful. Service is outstanding from the time you enter until you're ready to leave! Excellent overall!

Exceptional dining experience! Special family birthday celebration held in an historic and very charming old railroad station. Part pristine historical landmark, part museum, and complete fine dining establishment! Menu was diverse and delicious, the wait staff dressed for railroad motif and provided unique themed birthday song. At one point the building shook, moments before a train roared by, ending our casual, but overly satisfying gathering with excitement and delight!!! Get the Whiskey Bread pudding for dessert!!!

Wow!!! Totally stopped by this place in s whim because I was early for an appointment and I was blown away. The wait staff was incredible. Very nice, and personable. The food was surprising fantastic. The atmosphere was fantastic. I had the onion soup and can of wings to start. They were so, so very good. The The portabella burger was awesome. If you happen to be in the area, definitely stop in. It's worth it.

Good food. Good service. Great atmosphere. $2.00 plate charge for bring your own event cake even though all attending purchased cocktails and full dinners. Not cool.
