Alma Bistro

I can’t say enough great things about this place. I have been a longtime fan of their sister restaurant Don Rene Taqueria in Milford and have been eagerly waiting for Alma’s opening. Another home run! Alma is more diverse and a bit more upscale. Where Don Rene is primarily Mexican Alma’s is more Latin Fusion. In any event, I was blown away by the flavor and quality of the food. The service by amazing friendly staff. The décor is understated elegance creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Began with Sharing the guacamole and black bean hummus. Both exceptional. The Guacamole was well balanced and leagues above others I have tried. I simply could not get enough of the black bean hummus. It was so good, we asked to take the leftovers home. I would usually never take a side home. If a restaurant gets a staple such as Guac right, which they did, I knew things were looking up. One dish that will keep me coming back is the Tuna tostada. Well balanced dish of Miso, Ginger and Sesame oil and avocado with fresh Tuna was simply amazing. So good, we ordered a second. Another dish we tried was the Grilled octopus. Octopus is difficult at best to cook well, particularly when it is grilled you can’t hide behind excessive breading. The octopus was cooked perfectly. I would have never thought to serve with onions and celery with heirloom potatoes with smoked pepper puree. It not only works but will be a primary dish whenever I visit. I only wish I had loaf of bread to sop up the puree. The Kale Caesar with Cotija cheese and sunflowers seeds was another unexpected hit. I am honestly not a big fan of Kale. This was baby Kale which I prefer to the larger and more mature leaves. Again, delicious. The last dish we ordered was one of my favorites from Don Rene’s which was the Birria Taco. The only difference was Alma served two tacos per portion. The consume dipping sauce is amazing. The dish reminds me of childhood homemade beef stew on Sunday. I will Definity be back….this week. Can’t wait to try other dishes.

My family and I absolutely enjoyed our evening at Alma Bistro. Upon arrival and throughout our dinner, our waiter was incredibly attentive and kind. For drinks, we ordered a pitcher of the red sangria, which was wonderful! We ordered several things off the menu all delicious to try different things, but the chicken was our absolute favorite and I highly recommend it! For dessert we had the tres leches, also amazing! We absolutely see this restaurant becoming increasingly more popular as time goes and it’s absolutely worth a try if you are from the area! We are from NY and we will be back!

This new restaurant has great ambience! We ordered apps and drinks here and everything was so delicious. Grilled octopus had so much flavor as well as the steak with Chimichurri. The people/service here are so sweet and welcoming, definitely a great place to visit for lunch or dinner!

What an awesome spot. The Pollo Cha-Chacha was one of my favorite dishes I’ve had. Everything we had was absolutely amazing and the service was excellent as well. Alma is the sweetest. Will absolutely be back.

My family and I visited Alma Bistro yesterday and we were all blown away! From the friendly staff to the beautiful ambiance and the delicious food! We ordered so much from the menu and everything was amazing. I HIGHLY recommend the chicken entree Pollo Chacha-cha probably the best chicken dish I ever had in my life. All the appetizers we tried were very good, we LOVED the tuna tostada. I would give this place 10 stars if I could. I highly recommend this restaurant and we will most definitely be back! And btw the Sangrias were also awesome :

From the moment we walked in, my boyfriend and I knew the food was going to be amazing. This place has such a calming romantic vibe. They don’t have the music playing so loud which allows you to have an actual conversation with your partner or friends/family. The food was just as we expected. We had the sweet plantains as an appetizer and they were tender and perfect. We also had sangria which they give you a good portion of it and it was just perfect. For dinner I has the chicken cha cha cha. The chicken was so tender and full of flavor and the black bean mashed potatoes were so good! My boyfriend had the burger and even that was cooked to perfection. My only word of advice is to leave room for dessert. Lol I really wanted to try their chocoflan but we were already so full. We can’t wait to go back again.

NYE diner at Alma Bistro was spectacular. Every appetizer and entree we ordered was full of flavor and extremely fresh. Absolutely delicious. Still drooling over the steak pinchos, tuna tostada, and the Pollo chacha-cha just to name a few. The presentation of the food was amazing as well. Service took a little long , but it was also NYE so not complaining whatsoever. That was certainly expected when going out to eat on the busiest holiday and being a table of 8 guests . The owner was extremely hospitable and came out to introduce herself. They are also killing it with their social media marketing as that is how we discovered this new place. Thank you, Alma for an over the top experience! 10/10 I would recommend and we will certainly be coming back.

Excellent restaurant. I loved everything about it, from the hostess, the wait staff, meeting the owner and most of all the FOOD!!! I had only the appetizers which were amazing. The Empanadas Chicken, Sweet Plantains w/ cheese, Fish Tacos and the Pinchos medium were juicy and tender.. . Dessert was amazing as well!! Go, go, go!!!

We had a wonderful dinner there last night! Alma, the owner was charming, fun and full of details about her food. All of her recommendations were perfect. The food and drinks were super fresh and very tasty. The atmosphere is very inviting with lots of tables and a great bar and all the staff were super friendly. We will definitely be back!!

The food was amazing, I really loved their appetizers and salad options! The drinks were super cute and the atmosphere was awesome. They had happy hour from 3-6pm which was a plus. The servers were super friendly as well. I would totally recommend this new spot for lunch or dinner.
