Story

It’s a recipe that’s been satisfying the people of Maine for over 100 years. No, it’s not a “secret sauce”, or an “if we told you, we’d have to kill you” technique. People keep coming back to Amato’s for our hand-selected ingredients, bakery fresh breads, and dash of real Italian in every order.

The best. Walk in, walk out...in season, outside seating. Everything Italian/American made to order. Salads, pizzas, calzones, etc. As well as wine, beer and drinks (amazing assortment. Clean, fast and delicious. So far, only in Maine!

I'll tell you what, I'm a bit of a "foodie" and I have pretty high expectations but I was absolutely blown away by Amato's lobster roll. Just imagine the freshest lobster meat you've ever had tossed with a little mayo and served on a soft Italian roll. I have had lobster rolls all over the city and I would rather pay $12.95 for the lobster roll I had at Amato's than the smaller $16 lobster roll at Eventide. Don't get me wrong, Eventide's brown butter lobster roll is delicious but it's a distant second compared to the one I had at Amato's. Just saying. See for yourself. On another note there was a new cashier who wasn't quite up to speed but the gentleman making the sandwich was super friendly. I ❤️ Amato's.

I am a fan of Amato's in general. Though they are a "chain restaurant" the quality dosn't seem to suffer at any of the locations. They are a New England staple. Go get a Real Maine Italian and a woopie pie!
