I love this location. It is just around the corner from my house and this is where I do my personal and business banking. Have had zero problems with them and all of the employees are extremely nice and professional

I have some very negative feelings associated with America First Credit Union in general and with the branch in the Maceys in West Jordan specifically. The tellers and manager are courteous enough and the branch is clean. My feelings do not stem from these things. I opened my (it was joint with my husband with me as primary) account in May 2017 with more than $1000 cash and a check for more than $4000. Less than 20 minutes after opening my account- I had not left the branch- I realized there was a promotion to receive $100 for opening a checking account with certain qualifications. When I asked the manager if I could change my account to take advantage of the promotion she told me that I couldn't because I had already opened the wrong type of account. My husband opened one of the qualifying types of accounts with less than $200 cash shortly after I opened aforementioned account. In June I was taken in by a secret shopper scam and cashed several cashiers checks on different dates from 1st National Bank of Wisconsin for $1250 at the America First Credit Union branch in the West Jordan Maceys, once singly, twice more than one check. Never once did any teller ask about where the checks came from or what the money was for. Banks have absolutely no responsibility to protect their customers from fraud. Be that as it may, the various tellers at the West Jordan Maceys branch of America First either were ignorant of the telltale signs of fraud or didn't care whether or not A customer lost money. It is entirely possible that most tellers at most banks don't know or don't care. My experience was with this bank. Some how I was able to cash two of the fraudulent checks one day after the first bad check was returned. There is some sort of delay in the alert system at AFCU. I closed my account after paying the negative balance left from cashing the fraudulent checks. AFCU took money from my husband's account to pay some of the balance. A few days ago, on a Saturday, my husband went into the Maceys branch of AFCU to make a deposit of $100 cash and a personal check from a local bank for $75. He was told that there was an alert on his account that said that all funds he depisited would be on hold for seven days. I do not understand why there would be a hold on his account, especially with a cash deposit. There have been a few other negative experiences that I have had with AFCU, but this essay is long enough already. People that are more aware of fraud than I was will probably do fine with AFCU. Live and learn. But I cannot recommend America First Credit Union and will not bank there again.

I do not reccomend America First Credit Union to anyone. I have been a member for 27 years and they have finally lost my respect. Being a member of the military has its sacrifices. What I didn't realize is that those sacrifices can often include hits to your credit. When I joined the military I was told that all debt payments would be deferred while on orders. That didn't happen, because of this my credit took a hit. When I went to my credit union of 27 years they offered me an 11% interest rate on an auto loan and all they had to say is that I was worth no more an my experian credit score. That they wouldn't lend to me at any less of an interest rate than 11%. Even though my score is good with Equifax and Transunion and I have paid every loan off with interest, I was not worthy of any sort of "normal" interest rate. I have receivd a 5% loan from USAA who understands our service members. Shame on America First.
